Replacing Vieira with Fabregas was a mistake and our midfield lost it's bite at a time Mourinho was playing three in the middle. Fabregas should have replaced Bergkamp and we should have copied the 4-3-3 with Fabregas doing what Odegaard is doing now alongside Gilberto and a combative B2B player.

Rice/Palhinha/Jorginho
Odegaard/Smith Rowe----Rice/Onana

Cesc was a good player but not a great player.

The problem may have been formation, but in hindsight I think he was weak in the tackle and lacked goals.

How could he have replaced Bergkamp if we chose to play a 4 - 3 - 3?

From Bergkamp #10 in a front 2, to Fabregas #10 in a midfield 3. Basically Cesc gets the Odegaard role.

Thank fk somebody authoritative said it. You can't be a WC midfielder by mastering the 5 yd sideways pass.

"100% pass completion" being used to big up players, no doubt for fantasy football/Twitter argument purposes is the saddest thing to have happened since xG became a thing.

Cesc was a boss at passing forward. Those through balls Henry, Ade, RvP, Theo etc were things of really beauty. Such a talented player.

Ashley Cole and Van Persie are above him for me personally in that regard. Not a fan of how he left or the shitshow where he 'reluctantly' found himself wrestled into a Barca shirt but c'est la vie.

They are the big 3. Won't disagree with any of them being the most hated. I personally go for Cesc

Ashley Cole was treated poorly by the club, as confirmed in David Dien's book. Promises regarding his contract were made and broken by the club.

Cesc went to play for Barca. Catalan gunna Catalan. What did you think would happen?

van Persie spent months injured here, getting paid. Then f***ked off to Man Utd even though he knew fans would be furious about it, to win trophies the easy way. Complete mercenary c***.
