Heartbreaking news, real low note for what should be an exciting day for football. He was goign to join us as a coach apparently soon.

Great player who won trophies everywhere he went. RIP.

Tough day for Atletico Madrid. CL final in their stadium. Should have been a day of pride but José was their player too so they'll be gutted.

I hope they recognise him before the match.

He left us purely because he was homesick for Spain.

I remember his first game when he ended up face down on the turf after a solid tackle. He lifted his head and had grass sticking out of his mouth, and was stunned not to have got a free kick. Welcome to English football.

Very sad day.

Oh God.

This is terrible news.

RIP Jose. :(

Will never be able to forgive those ManU players for bullying him like their lives depended on it. And the refs just let it happen.

RIP.

Story coming out of Spain that Reyes crashed doing 120 mph killing himself and two passengers ... sad way to bow out

Our comeback against Middlesbrough to tie Nottingham Forest's record of 42 games unbeaten may be my favourite football memory.

Reyes' goal to put us up 4-3 just seconds after Pires got the equalizer is the most hype moment ever for me.

Yeah the pictures of his car are horrific

It happened in a quiet part of Seville so probably thought they could let it

The two passengers were his cousins
