Five seasons before Wenger joined Arsenal league finishes were 4, 10, 4, 12, 5. Where the fck was that quality? Five seasons before Emery joined 4,3,2,5,6.[/quote]

You're as dumb as a stump - where's the quality? are you feckin' serious

Arsene inherited :

Seaman, Dixon, Winterburn, Vieira, Bould, Adams, Platt, Wright, Merson, Bergkamp, Anelka. Keown, Parlour, Hartson ...

The Don inherited :

Cech, Bellerin, Elneny, Koscielny, Mkhirtaryan, Ramsey, Laca, Ozil, Auba, AMN, Holding, Iwobi, Monreal, Mustafi, Welbeck, Jenkinson, Kolasniac, Xhaka

Even giving The Don a few extra players, be honest which squad is 1000% better than the other one?

Go on you pick the one you think lacks quality ..... and then we'll all laugh at you ..... millennials you just haven't a clue

Erm...not a millennial. And can you explain why this amazing squad finished 4,10,4,12,5? Pretty sure you can’t.

Nice side-step to avoid the question .... come on just look at those names, it was a very simple question, who inherited the better squad Arsene or the Don?

Adams, Bould, Keown were overrated. The only ones who hype them up are Arsenal fans. They were done by the mid nineties. They could not even qualify for major tournaments with England and struggled in the league. If wenger hadn’t come in, sorted them out and won two leagues with them no one would be talking about them today.
Oh and Wenger bought Vieira.

They already knew how to defend though.

Apart from trashing three Arsenal legends you still avoided answering the question, who inherited the better squad?

FYI - Vieira joined 14th August 1996 - Arsene joined 22nd September 1996 ... so whilst Arsene no doubt had an influence Vieira was there before him ....

So you're saying the players don't matter we only won two titles because of Arsene .... so all the credit goes to Arsene being good

The flip side of that is that from 2005 to 2018 we never won the title ... so if the players don't matter then that's all down to Arsene being shit

If he takes the credit for the wins he takes the blame for the failures ... is that right?

Your reasoning is totally wrong, they were not overrated at all. George Graham lost his sparkle and so too did the team. Wenger came in and breathed new life into the players.

So you are equally right and wrong with your conclusion, yes the players were nothing special when Wenger took over but they knew how to defend and how to play, Wenger simply brought the buzz back.

Please please please. People stop the madness. If you ever opened a newspaper in England in the nineties you’d know what a disaster football was back then. The players were out of control, the manager was profiting off the team, and the entire infrastructure was in a deep malaise. Compare Adams, Keown and Bould against their European counterparts like Paolo Maldini and they just don’t stack up. History has been very kind to these guys.
Now back to Wenger. He not only made these washed up drunks win, he then went on and built an entire invincibles squad 6 seasons later that had none of George Graham’s players in it. So much for inheriting good players.
As far as Emery goes. Of the players that started in the EL final I’d say Monreal and Cech are past it and AMN questionable. The other eight are absolute quality players who are more than good enough for top four or an EL win.
So to answer, I think Emery inherited the better squad.

You can't argue with stupid ....

Cech, Bellerin, Elneny, Koscielny, Mkhirtaryan, Ramsey, Laca, Ozil, Auba, AMN, Holding, Iwobi, Monreal, Mustafi, Welbeck, Jenkinson, Kolasniac, Xhaka

are better than

Seaman, Dixon, Winterburn, Vieira, Bould, Adams, Platt, Wright, Merson, Bergkamp, Anelka. Keown, Parlour, Hartson

If you honestly believe that there's not much more to say ....

Arsene in 1997 - 2005 had without question the best or second best squad in the Premier League ... even swipe right can't re-write history to deny that fact ... Arsene managed to finish 1st twice and 2nd five times before the wheels started to fall off. No question Arsene deserves massive credit for this, but he was fortunate that he kept almost the entire squad he inherited in 1996 for 1997, certainly all the starters ... and that wasn't because they were all washed up drunks ... plus he was given cash to go out and buy Overmars, Petit, Grimandi, Upson. Boa Morte, Manninger, and Mendez ....

The Don has inherited the 5th or perhaps 6th best squad in the League ... he has already lost arguably his best midfield player, and he seems to have very little money to improve his squad next season ... yet people are actually claiming The Don got the better deal?

Some posters are right now saying that the Don inherited the better squad, how on earth do you get there? ... is it any wonder the football world calls our fans deluded and arrogant? we can't even agree on facts that are written down in EPL history ...

Wenger inherited Washed up Drunks, and six years later had changed the entire squad

Well apart from Vieira, Keown, Bergkamp, and Parlour but what do those players matter? If The Don is here in six years time how many of this squad do you think will still be here ... looking at the age and quality of the current squad hopefully it will be even less than four ....

Youre a disgusting mess of a human being.

You think its ok to insult club legends and dismiss Graham's squad? Whats pissing me off most about you is that people who don't know better might believe your bullshit

Put this clown on ignore

Dixon...............Keown............Adams...........Winterburn

Parlour............Jensen.............Platt................Merson

.........................Bergkamp.......Wright

Who from the squad inherited by Emery do you think would have displaced any of those players?

I have highlighted the players who I would pick in those positions above anyone in the squad that Emery inherited.

Five seasons before Wenger joined Arsenal league finishes were 4,10,4,12,5.

End the myth that Emery inherited a shit squad and Wenger a great one.
