And some people think City's win over the mighty QPR is the best ever finish to a season.

Can't wait for this.

Bizarre how people can think beating QPR—one of the most inferior teams in the league to win the title—is more impressive than doing it on the final day of the season against the reigning champions and touted favorites who were fighting for the very same trophy as Arsenal were in that game.

Not to mention Barton getting sent off leaving QPR to play with 10 men for half an hour.

We beat Liverpool away when they were still Liverpool.

Completely forgot about the roadman getting sent off.

Only adds to the supremacy of the win in '89.

Add in those two kickoffs after the goal. Disgraceful, both of them.....

@ Vava, Zenith

This is Arsenal we're speaking of. Whether it's the pundits, media, or general fans, there's always a sense of unease when it comes to embracing Arsenal and Arsenal legends. The '89 miracle was before Wenger, so you'd assume that people would talk about it or remember it as an incredible accomplishment/event. After Wenger, the media, pundits, FA, etc. all acted like they'd been robbed off ManU's supremacy as—out of nowhere—we arrived, beat ManU, and played the most breathtaking football this country had ever seen. And, let's face it, ManU did play attacking football, but their version was nowhere as smooth, flowing, and silky as ours was.

I don't know why, but we are the most underrated "big club" in England. You hear people talk about ManU and Liverpool so highly. Lately, City have grabbed everyone's attention because—despite spending so much—they go about the right way and play fluid, attacking football. Chelsea is obviously respected because they're arguably the most successful English club this decade. And, Spurs, ohhhh... They don't have to win anything. Since Pochettino, they're already the "best, most consistent team in England."

So, it doesn't surprise me that City's last minute win against QPR is considered more historic than our victory against Liverpool at Anfield. Having said that, it is the best finish to a Premier League season and is more recent, but to say it's a bigger accomplishment than winning the title at Anfield, or even during the Wenger years - winning the title at Spurs and United - that's special.

It's amazing how we're this "outsider" in the English sphere. When pundits and ex-players gather for an all-time Prem 11 or the top-10 or 15 players of the PL era, it's only Henry who gets in instantly. Otherwise, it's the usual wank-fest for Cantona, Beckham, Ferdinand and Terry at CB, Neville at RB, Gerrard and Lampard as CMs, Giggs, Shearer, etc, etc. Even Cole, who you'd think is a no-brainer, doesn't get in most of the time. Pires is arguably the best winger the Premier League has seen. Vieira is probably the best CM alongside Scholes and Keane. We had the best backline in the world at one point and Sol Campbell, despite being British, is criminally underrated.

I'm not surprised that anything Arsenal is overlooked these days. If Jose Mourinho had won 7 FA Cups instead of Wenger, there'd have been a wank-fest across the media.

It's not surprising.

That always makes me laugh

City having to beat a relegation threatened side at home who also went down to 10 men during the game to win the title.

They did. Well done

Best ever goes to 89 by a mile
