Another legend of the game gone. I would have loved him to have come back just once more.

Thank you for the memories Thierry, the goals, the assists, the passion and the 'Va Va Voom' adverts :)

Come back home TH14.

He would be an asset to our coaching setup. My Favorite Footballer of all time. He has joined Sky as a pundit. So i am not sure if he is going to return to AFC in a coaching capacity any time soon.

Saw it this morning and wanted to cry. My favourite footballer ever, nobody will surpass him. Sad day for football but i'm sure he'll embarrass G Nev as a pundit the same way he embarrassed him on the pitch.

Thierry on the prospect of returning to Arsenal as a player one more time (paraphrased): "Once you've been a part of Arsenal you always want to return, but you have to ask the question, how many times do you return? If you do it too many times then it becomes like a bad movie. We all enjoyed the first Rocky but did we enjoy the last one?"

My abiding memory of the king was being at Fratton Park back in 04 when we drubbed them 5-1 in the Fa Cup. He was on absolute fire. When we started singing his name all the Pompey fans joined in then they gave him a standing ovation when he was subbed off. Not many players command that kind of respect from opposition fans, shows what a great footballer he was.

So he's going to be a Pundit? Oh well... That's it for returning to Arsenal then.

The man who made me fall in love with Arsenal; his grace, elegance, class and technique made him the most aesthetically pleasing player I've ever seen.

There aren't enough superlatives to describe him, he's simply one of the greatest of all time.

Any football fan fortunate enough to witness him should consider themselves extremely privileged, because there won't ever be another like him.

Always and forever my idol.

Absolute pleasure to have been an Arsenal fan, whilst having the best striker to ever wear the shirt playing for us. Thanks for all the memories Thierry, you absolute legend!

Perhaps everyone can post their favourite memory of Thierry, as a tribute to the man.

One of the greatest players to ever do it.

Deserves a 21 gun salute everywhere he goes.
