Thought he retired years ago when he went to live in America.

Oh well.

Bye.

Thank you for who you were and not who you became.

I remember our unbeaten season, stood in the away end at Ewood Park watching Thierry legitimately & fairly out fox Brad Friedel by smoothly & effortlessly controlling the ball after Friedel threw it up, slip it away from him & slide it into the empty net.. I pretty much spammed out, safe in the knowledge we were one up & once again Mr. Henry had performed something quite astonishing..... I know how fortunate & privileged I am to have witnessed such a thing.

It did watching at the time & it still does today...

As for the result... Yeah it was 0-2 but 3 perfectly good goals were scored that day so for me?? Yeah it counts! :-)

Thierry Henry retires

Postby O2il » Tue Dec 16, 2014 3:58 pm

Thank you Thierry, great memories, great footballer and a true artist! Now go and get your coaching certificates and managing experience and come manage Arsenal in 10 years!
He flicked it wide of Grobbelaar!

The king.

It was a privilege being able to watch him at Highbury in the flesh.

Disgrace how a thread like this is only 2 pages long. My twitter TL is still flooded with Henry related stuff.

Despite knowing this day was going to be coming sooner rather than later I was praying he'd have a season or two left in him whether it was here or at rumoured Monaco or PSG.

I couldn't ask for a better childhood hero! A little bit inside me died this morning when I read the news because of how much of an impact the guy has had. I will never forget him as a player and the countless memories he's left us with - He truely is one of a kind.

I wish him all the best in the new chapter of his career in being a pundit. Hopefully a return here as a coach is near in the future also.

Av Revior Thierry! :crybaby: :hail: :arsenal3:

Here are some of my favourite memories:

Shame he let himself down with the handball against Ireland and the celebration posted 2 pics up (we all agree on here that shouldn't be done against rival rans don't we?).

Great player though, one of the very best.

*forgot about the Irish thing until people were bringing it up today now he's retired. Hopefully that won't stop people remembering him properly.
