He was never the best CB in the league.

Mert becoming super shit coincided with Kos’ Achilles becoming as useful as a chocolate teapot. He’s been on painkillers every game for 2 years, this isn’t an opinion this is just fact

I think it's a case of their partnership being greater than the sum of its parts.

Kos and Mert complemented each other well.

Still better than any CB we've got which shows how bad we are, the defence needs a total revamp in the summer tired of all these ball playing defenders like Chambers and Mustafi look at the way Kompany brushes aside anyone who comes in his way with ease that's one of the things we need, go big on Koulibaly in the summer.

Yeah I agree.

There was about 3-4 big games they had together where they actually looked unbreakable.

He's been a total wreck this year, what a shame.

You look at Spuds already planning to replace their two 28/29 year old CB's in two years .... and we're still starting our 33 year old cripple?

You don't win the financial league by replacing defenders willy nilly.

Felt sorry for him tonight.

Each passing game he's slowing down now. He shouldn't of played tonight but Wenger couldn't afford to put Chambers or Holding in.

I pray his achilles don't end up in a mess like Cazorla's but the amount of games he's been playing lately it's a real worry :(

kos is a mere shell of what he once was. and for fans to say he wasn't ever a strong CB is a joke. before his injuries woes, kos was one of the fastest players in the prem.

now, with his achilles the way it is and his age.....he's done. it hurt to watch him play tonight because he's put a lot into this club and you can tell his time is over. much respect for him and I'm sure he'll enjoy retirement.....it's well deserved and thanks for your service to the club Kos.
cheers!
