If Monreal is fit, I trust his abilities and experience far more than the babyface rookie from a SPL team that has no domestic challengers whatsoever.

Kola is a liability as others have mentioned. With Luiz playing the ball out from the back, we shouldnt have to play as high of a line as we normally do.

If this happens, can Chambers or dear God, Mustafi cover as LB?

Ideally we’d wait til Jan so KT is up to speed but I think Nacho’s contract is up next summer

We won't get much money for Nacho if he leaves this window, £5m would be a big fee. He's worth more to us if he stays.

Agreed.

It's worth noting that if new security issues were to emerge, preventing Sead from being able to play, we're in deep trouble.

Also, that £3-4m Nacho would commend will not help us during Tierney's recovery.

True. Didn't we also sell our best youth LB?
If Kola is out, we'll see Niles as LB with Chambers or Mustafi at RB. Just thinking about it is bad enough.

Unnecessary business, this. Pointless.

Now, we have an injured LB who's taking that big leap from the mighty SPL and another LB who's a LWB and whose weakest aspect is defending. We're also trading Monreal's valuable experience for peanuts.

I've read Monreal said a few days ago, that he doesn't want to go anywhere, but maybe he's still worried about his playing time as soon as Tierney settles in with Kola also around.
He does seem to be the nice bloke who wouldn't talk about his leaving wishes publicly.

I thought Tierney wasn’t expected to even be in full training until the start of a October?

Seems a risky move considering such a small transfer fee. Let him go in Jan

I agree we don’t want to be selling Nacho as things are, that would be verging on madness. He’s not been his best of late but I believe most of that is down to lack of fitness and game time.

Wait until Jan FFS

A 33 year old LB with no legs (Monreal) is still far better than Kolasanic. Be it in defending or attacking.
