We're reportedly forgoing a fee in place of receiving a first option to buy on any of their players.

Oyarzabal is sort of ok.

Good bit of business tbf. One of their kids has a break out season and we are first on the door step.

Maybe we've scouted a few but want to see how they turn out before committing?

I don't know that I've heard of this before. Interesting.

Not a bad deal should something good come up. I guess agent Nacho will be there to whisper great things about this club in the ear of any potential signing.

Best LB would be Tierney, he's also not a CB and all of Holding, Sokratis and yes even Luiz are better at CB, you could even shout for Chambers being a better CB.

Fact is we have a younger Kolasinac who despite the cat calls is not that bad of a LB, we have Tierney as No1 and whatever you think of Monreal compared to Kola, Monreal is in his 30's and about done.

Time for Kola to step up and earn his spot at LB, he only needs a bit more focus on defending rathern than going forward and he'll be fine.

I think this translates to us having 3 available senior LB's once Tierney is fit and no one is willing to buy a 33 yr old and slowing Monreal so this is our chance to get him off the wage bill.

We'd of only got a few mil for him anyway, no ones come in for him all summer.

Tierney is a LB who can cover CB in emergencies or in a back five. He is so obviously Monreal's replacement. He appears to be basically a younger, better Monreal.

If Tierney had been fit and with us for pre-season I don't think Monreal would have lasted this long.

We're still losing him a year too early IMO. Monreal is fit to play now while Tierney is still injured and has never faced PL opposition.

Selling Monreal now is not ideal since Kola cant defend and Tierney is not ready.
