That must have been one of the best feelings ever for gooners.

Best finish ever to a season.

Oh the commentator, what was his name again? He used to commentate for ITV's Champions League too, hearing his voice gives me goosebumps from some of those nights.
Go Cannons!!

i had a tenner on us to win this 2 nil at 16 -1 plus another at the start of the season to win the league also at 16-1
my holiday with the lads to tenerife that year was £400 quid so i got it for £80. there were loads of gooners at the hotel and was a great time all round for me i was 24
after the game there was a couple of ads on the itv a quick lift of the trophy and that was it ...was a different world before sky came along..but oh to be one of those lucky sods crammed in the corner at anfield...

The game was delayed because of traffic problems
It kicked off at 8-15 pm
My mum was under strict orders to tape it
Itv are quite strict about there news at ten
It was late because of injury time and such
When I got home I devoured every scrap of news from every source
That night
The league cup win at spurs in 87
Alan sunderlands late winner in 79
Dancing round the living room hearing Paul vaessens late goal in Turin that sent us to the cup winners cup final in 80
Have a new friend in the heart
Ramsey's goal in the 2014 cup final
There are probably loads more to a lesser extent (seamans heroics in the 1995 cup winners cup shoot out semi in 1995)
So lucky to have great memories(and bad ones) watching our great club
Here's to many more(good ones I hope)
But it's the bad ones that make the good ones so sweet
A ready made glory hunter would never understand that sentiment
But they are to be pitied
They will never know the genuine joy that a true fan feels

i knew you would have been one of those lucky sods starman :)
it's hard to put over in words the sheer joy of that night, it was like being given the key to paradise and gooner heaven!
i video taped it too and poured over it again and again til it wore out, there was no internet then and mobile phones were the size of bricks!
going back to the vaessen goal in turin, i listened to the game in my dads car , when he scored i just hugged my bro and we went mad shaking the hell out of it ...poor little riley kestrel haha!
i knew one bloke from staines, brian, who was one of the spartaesque (300) that went to the game.
he said the italian police gave them a real pasting afterwards but it was worth every bruise!
