From another thread:

Tony_Adams wrote:It was the first match that I ever watched from start to finish (albeit on TV). I was 11. My dad didn't support a team but usually supports the underdog and he told me we wanted Arsenal to win. I had never seen my dad get excited about a football match before but he was going mental cheering when Arsenal scored. I wasn't interested in football until that moment, but I finally got what all the fuss was about. My mum said how my great Aunt would be pleased because they were her team (she lived in north london and my uncle was a proper londoner/arsenal fan).

After that I watched the 1990 world cup and the following season collected the panini football stickers. Arsenal were the first team that I got all the stickers for. My auntie had been sending me down programmes from Arsenal matches and Arsenal became my team. I bought the shirt, joined the junior gunners and the rest is history.

That moment turned me into both a football fan and an Arsenal fan.

It was just fantastic. My best memories of going to football home and away is the 80s. This was the climax to it.

Really, really great memories.

I remember during the summer of 88, Liverpool re-signed Ian Rush from Juventus. They had replaced him with Aldridge, who was prolific. When they signed Rush again, I remember saying to my mate in the pub, "That's it, we've got no chance now. They've got Aldridge AND Rush."

Yeah, its a great film - captures the history well.
Watched it again yesterday.

A real fotoball team. A real manager.

The best year we've ever known - better than the invincibles... the game itself was better than any other game/moment in football history.

One of those moments in life where you can recall exactly where you were and what was around you. I was watching it on tv in my flat in Guildford and remember the vague hope being replaced with real hope, but no real belief that we would do it.

When that goal went it I was leaping around the room screaming at the top of my voice...a wonderful memory.

I got the 89 DVD as soon as it came out and relived it with three Gooner Mates, savouring every minute. Only recently I watched the film Fever Pitch With Colin Firth which is about an Arsenal fan school teacher and the whole 89 experience. A must watch film!

Fever pitch bored the hell out of me tbh until the actual match was on.

Colin firth was one of those boring stuffy actors the Oscars love.

Then came kingsmen and his career blossomed
