It makes you wonder though, doesn't it?

I reckon that if he knew that Fergie and Meulensteen would leave after a year and we'd go on to sign Mesut Ozil he would have stayed. We'd be so good now if we had him...

Still, no point crying over spilt milk. He's a dick, he made his choice and he can go down with the sinking ship.

It was up to Wenger as a manager to keep players who he thinks the team needs to win a title - no matter what! Ferguson very clearly bested him and took the best striker we had and the very next season they won it.

Either Wenger did not see RVP as still possessing quality or his ego thought that he could find another RVP easily... That decision came back to bite him in the arse, and not only last season ALSO this season RVP was involved in the goal that gave them 3 points against us.

You can't EVER possibly sell to your rivals... This is very basic rule #1... This is why a lot of people want Wenger out in my opinion.. He did great things in this team, but he's now making decisions that are holding it back.

It was a business decision. You either take 24 million or he leaves free next summer. Since he made it cl;ear to them he didnt want to stay, you can imagine behind the scenes he made it clear he wants to leave and if he is forced to stay he will not give his all. Players do this kind of thing all the time. One thing that was against us was there was no International tournament we could threaten him with by saying you are not gonna play and miss the world cup

So, let's get this straight...

van Persie in 2011 - I don't agree with Arsenal's vision; hence, I want to leave. Joins Man United.
van Persie in 2014 - I don't agree with Manchester United's vision; hence, I want to leave/re-join Arsenal?

Oh f**k off. If he joined in Jan, I'd have taken him because that would have landed us the title--swallowing my disdain for him. But no please. In the summer, if the Board is in a mood to bless and Wenger in a mood to spread the blessings, we will land a world class striker.
