Let’s be clear. On his day van Persie was outstanding. But those days were few and far between. In his 11 seasons in England he only hit 30 goals in all competitions twice. Once for us and once for United. He only hit more than 20 goals twice. That means he had seven seasons that were absolute mediocre. He spent about three years between 2005-2008 injured and completely useless to us. The same people who criticize Wengers patience laud van Persie. When frankly you couldn’t have one without the other. An ambitious manager would have dumped vanPersie in the Erevedise in 2005.
It’s a different story with Cesc who carried the club on his back for most of his time. I can’t think of more value for money than any other player in our history.

Talent wise RVP was up there with Henry and bergkamp, goals aren't everything bergkamp only hit 20 goals all comps once.

I agree about cesc though got goals and assists but most importantly which what puts above an ozil is he dominated games with his quick thinking, he didn't f**k around on the ball he got it and distributed it up the field quickly.

Fabregas was Wengerball really.

Would have loved to see van Persie and Ozil play together. I think their style and movement would complement one another.

Oh, you should watch the Giggs one.

It goes something like: Iniesta or Scholes, the more influential player in Spain's World Cup winning side?

Giggs: Oohhhh, that's a tough on. But just by a hair, Scholes.

Interviewer: Pogba or Carrick, who is a bigger French icon?

Giggs: Oohhhh... Carrick.

2nd most naturally talented player in PL history after Dennis.

Also had the most aesthetically pleasing technique I've ever seen.

Not a big player when the only thing you’re proud of is one great season at a club that’s had 19 before you showed up.

The club looked after him for years with his injuries, he has a short memory.

He had ambition... the club didnt.

have you all forgotten the wenger downfall. That 8-2 game mentally broke him imo.

Sucks he joined manu yes but he wanted to win the league before his career ended and did just that in his first season there carrying their entire team on his back.

Anyhow to get back on point. You can hate RVP all you want but you cant deny his talent.
