Former Arsenal and England defender Kenny Sansom has revealed that he is living on the streets after alcoholism took over his life.
The veteran of two World Cups has been sleeping on a park bench after falling on hard times.
In March, he was rushed to hospital after collapsing in the street.
Sansom revealed in his 2008 autobiography that he had struggled all of his life with addictions to alcohol and gambling, and the Arsenal legend has finally hit rock-bottom:
"I've been living homeless for 10 days," he told The Sun.
"That's because I've got no money, I'm a drunk, I'm feeling not very well and I'm a gambler.
"I've been living on the street. It's not good living on the bench."
The newspaper report claims that Sansom, 54, has been drinking up to SEVEN bottles of rosé wine every day, and disappeared on Tuesday from his sister's house where he had been staying.
Alcoholism in ex-footballers has gained a higher profile in recent years, with Paul Gascoigne, Tony Adams and Paul Merson going public with their struggles.
