Didn't Carini even had his photo taken in an Arsenal shirt before the deal fell through because he couldn't agree personal terms?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic had his picture taken in an Arsenal shirt as well. He was offered the number 9 shirt. I clearly remember the picture.

Would love to see him paired up with Micah Richards!

We were linked with him for 5 mil quid in January for a while

I am starting to warm to the idea of him playing for us, don't know why, prob cause i have had no sleep and am entering the twilight zone :)

I don't think this one is bullshit. I get the feeling that this will happen.
I could be wrong but the fact that Vermaelen keeps being quoted as saying that the deal is almost done is a strong sign. He hasn't come out and denied those quotes so I think they're real, and if it did turn out to be bullshit it would be very embarassing for him.

It's also a player in the kind of budget range we would expect.
I can't get excited about him though because I know very little about him and he isn't the age and height we all wanted.
I'll wait until I see him play for us. Knowing Wenger though he'll turn out to be a quality player and we probably won't care how tall he is.

Let's hope that he is the business because he will certainly be an Arsenal player some time today.

He won't be announced todayyyyyyy come onnnn this is Arsenal slowest club in the history of transfer making ever.

Anyway deadlines 12 days away so we don't even get him officially till then.

If we get this wrapped up quickly I'll be happy. The thing I've really liked about this story is that we've had a load of quotes from the player himself. Arsenal have been quiet as usual, but it's nice anyway to have some kind of confirmation it's not media bullshit.

The only thing i'm impressed with is his attitude. I know nothing about this guy and won't pretend to but some of his comments are refreshing

Supposed comments smooth, it would not be the first time this close season that quotes had been pulled out of thin air.

If the transfer fee was about £6 million, i could understand this transfer completely, but £12m? Massive clubs rarely spend that much on defenders, the money is always made or spent on strikers and midfielders, so AW must think highly of him to pay that much, because to be honest i think we could have had Hangeland/Upson for that amount and they are proven in the Prem.

I am still warming to the idea, so it wasn't my complete lack of sleep, i suppose a good thing that will come out of this transfer if it happens is we will find out just how tall he is
