So why not just tell us that at the time instead of the crap he spewed?

Should've kept highbury

So 4th place was all we were aiming for each season and he was talking **** all those times when we went into seasons with him saying he believed we could win the league.

Yeah. He should have come out and said that we have hopeless owners and it's basically down to him to salvage Arsenal.

So, be careful when Arteta, a mid table messiah, says otherwise.

Wenger also said that top-4 is as good as a trophy, didn't he? Wonder why.

After 20 seasons in UCL, countless trophies, having to sell players he didn't want to sell, a new stadium, we are finally where we belong.

Thank f**k he's gone.

Only a dumbass would ever assume that Wenger didn't spend because he didn't want to.

But we have Edu and Arteta. Glory days shall return. Be patient.

He might just become the next SAF if we stick with him for another five years, no questions asked. I really hope we do.

A fanbase that has ostracized their best ever deserves the next SAF.

The move to the emirates was a sound one
Keeping a manager 6 years past his sell buy date was the mistake

When we lost in the third round of the fa cup to 2nd division Nottingham forest in 2018 you said he should have gone 7 years ago
That’s not throwing a trophy away?
Our best days as fans should always be in front of us
How is it foolish to hope for better but not to want toreturn to the mediocre?
My Arsenal don’t think getting in the champions league is good enough
Mine would die trying to win it

Who is Alan Esparza?

Some say he’s a Spurs fan.
Some say say he’s a part of extinction rebellion.
All we know, is he’s called Alan Esparza!

Hooray the man that finished in the top 4 for so long, league is a different beast now, only have to look at how many top teams regularly drop points.
Life is situational the man was a master at the start and ended up a charlatan imo.

Probably totally bored with endless meetings & bureaucracy at FIFA.

Good luck to him. International football will suit him.

This is from his book, btw.

It's so unfortunate how it all ended. I really wished Wenger evaluated the situation properly and didn't sign that extension.

He was obsessed with the love of his life, Arsenal. He simply couldn't step back. He talks about building the training facility and the stadium brick-by-brick, and the manner in which it all ended left a sour taste.

Of course, the folks at Arsenal who made his final years a living hell are to be blamed more. That's what you get when you have a bunch of clowns running the show.

Today, £400m later, we're worse off than we ever were under Wenger.

Sad.

Sorry, but I think we're here because of Wenger, primarily.
Yes, I know - very few of his players are left and we're two places lower in the league, but the absolute rot and malaise that has been a hallmark of the club for over a decade and born out on the pitch with completely unprofessional performances that crop up seemingly at random based on whether the players can be arsed started under Wenger and by the time he left were embedded under Wenger.

He left a ship full of holes and sinking and a divided and very unhappy fan base who had turned against each other. That remains today as does the rotten culture at the club. That will not soon depart. It will take years.

I too wish Wenger had left earlier - much earlier. Somewhere around 2009. Then his legacy would be in tact.
As it is he holds the distinction of being probably our best ever manager AND the man that seriously damaged the club - potentially even beyond repair.
