He should have.

Period.

It pains me when I see teenagers compare him to Lewandowski these days.

He was the best player on the planet at one point. Messi and Ronaldo changed the game. But at one point, he was the game.

Henry, Ronaldinho and zidane were the ballers as a kid. Ronaldinho could have been Goat if he didn't start partying.

Lol he was never as good as the other 2 you mentioned. Rivaldo pisses on him. As does Figo, Nedved, Shevchenko and others who won the award at that time.

The fact that TH14 never won a Ballon Abhor says a lot more about the credibility of the award than about Henry.

Football is a team sport and a player's individual performance is influenced by a plethora of variables which makes it impossible to measure individual performance in a fully equitable manner to reach an explicit conclusion.

For example, a Maltese Granada player who bags 65 goals and 40 assists in a single La Liga season without winning the WC and/or CL would already struggle to win the award because abovementioned criteria is not achieved.

Practically every legendary manager has shot down its relevance and one can only hope that, one day, the average football fan will share that view.

I really stopped paying much attention to it in 2002

Ballack should've won it. He was awesome all year round. Ronaldo won it thanks to a great month at the World Cup and being injured before and after that.

Then in 2010 sneijder should've walked it.

Once in a lifetime player. My only regret is taking him for granted when he was around. Back then it felt like the party would never end. What a shame.
