11/08/19 | Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal | Premier League

Considering our dreadful away record last season and the fact that none our new signings started, I was fearing the worst here. Therefore, delighted with the performance and the win. Holding onto that lead was vitally important and had wider implications than just this game. It lays down a marker for the rest of the season and we are not giving people a bandwagon to jump on from the get go. No goals conceded and an away win. Well done lads! :arse fan: :arse fan:

Doesn't sound like it was a great game

But we got the result, and we're a week closer to getting more players back

Dreadful performance but the 3 points were more important than anything

He's going to be next for the chop.

On £140m pw wages, we can do a lot better, was hoping he'd give us something this year for a guy of his level but he seriously needs to improve his games.

He has his moments but I want to see an improvement for the wages he's getting.

£140m a week! Thats scandalous!

Ridiculous considering he provides nothing to the team apart from filling a space on the pitch

Jesus, I actually low balled.

He's officially on £180k pw lol

I think these first few weeks of the season are all about keeping pace with the other top four contenders whilst we wait for the new guys to acclimatise and for the likes of Holding and Bellerin to return to the fold. We'll get better as the season goes on.

Can't even fit all that on the bench.

Honestly with this squad we should be winning the Europa and getting top 4 without having to sacrifice.

The maxi fella had not scored in 1256 mins
In the previous 1256 Arsenal minutes
Aubamayang scored 8

Sokratis 1
In their previous 1256 individual mins
Pepe scored 6
Ceballos 1
They really needed to worry about us

Scrappy?

Its pissing with rain out there you fkin idiot.

This is the exact same style we played last year. No direction. No authority on games. Just relentless side ways passing , move it to the wing, back to the midfielders, and back to the opposite wingers.

All our talent is either on the bench or at home hiding from Moped robbers.

This is our B-Tec Carling cup squad ........ what were you expecting a Real Madrid performance?

As long as we win, its fine.

We're also playing Newcastle in a half-empty stadium, fans revolting and a new manager. They're relegation fodder.

Unai made the choice to start this line up. And per his pre-match comments he wanted to have a more defensive midfield and play on the counter attack. He's set up for the draw, with the outside hope we can nick a goal on the break

St. James's Park was at 95 percent capacity today
Newcastle have a mid table squad
We took a side that have struggled to defend for 12 years
And we're particularly poor in doing so last season
Manager with fine forward line sets up to be more solid
The problem is?
