Chambers didn’t have much to deal with as Lyon gave nothing in the first half. Looked OK.
Mustafi did fine when he came on, not sure about the Dembele goal if he could’ve done better but did well in the air during his spell.

C'mon. Mustafi continously makes rudimental, schoolboy mistakes. Whether it's positioning, timing of tackles or just not reading the game. Simply not good enough. He's not the only one. Chambers, Jenkinson, Monreal & AMN are simply not cutting it either.

Hard really given the number of changes by both sides, looked comfortable first half without really threatening their goal too much. Same old Arsenal really.

Monreal’s deliveries were poor.
Auba looked as happy and lively as ever so no question over his commitment to us.
Eddie had a couple of good opportunities he should’ve taken.
Nelson was lively and full of tricks but without real product. Deserves game time this season for sure.
Willock - probably the shining light of the game, comfortable on the ball and made our best stuff happen.
Ceballos - looks exactly as expected, smooth on the ball and under pressure. Potentially a bit slow if we lose the ball high up though.

Nobody else really worth calling out. Likes of Mkhi and AMN were their same old nothing selves.

Chambers didn't have much to do but the only time he got tested, he failed. Yes terrible AMN shouldn't have let the cross in, but Chambers like other defenders we have, like marking space rather than a man. Maybe the idea is if you mark space and someone heads the ball in, you can turn back, raise your hands to wonder why no offside was given, or why no one was there to mark your man...

From Lyons side I only really paid attention to Andersen, having realised it was the guy we were linked with, he looked solid and composed. Absolute monster of a guy as well.

Dembele obv two good finishes.
Couple of dirty c**** from their side trying to hurt Xhaka was the only other takeaway from Lyon.

I was getting annoyed in the first half as I always do with Xhaka but by the second half I was just cracking up tbh
We all know he's slow but when you have him out there with the youngsters it's so ridiculous to watch. Everyone getting the ball with pressure and able to turn and bring the ball from midfield while Xhaka still doing his fall down routine once a defender gets close
Any counters just die at his feet. Mkhi, Iwobi, AMN - I get all their criticisms too but Xhaka n Mustafi are in a class of their own and really detrimental to any success we can have

I hope we secure the Tierney deal and allow Monreal to go back to Spain, which I think he'd be open to. I love the man but we need an upgrade at left-back desperately and Kolasinac is Ozil's personal security detail, so he won't be going anywhere.
