But why not start with the right lineup for once?
I'll stay patient, but Emery has to start learning from his mistakes and make our team tick, because we're still a far way off.

What mistakes has he not learned from here? His defence is obviously without any alternative (we have no senior defenders on the bench). Xhaka and Torreira have been effective together, so there is no mistake there. Ramsey and Auba have both not been in as good form as Mkhi and Iwobi.

The only 'mistake' he could have learned from is to play Laca and Auba together, but it's hardly a mistake since the player he's chosen instead is Ozil.

I mean that apart from those last 30 mins against Fulham (the worst defence in the league), we've looked shit. You can say all you want, we have been lucky. Our defence looks shaky at best, our midfield can't control a game and our attack is relying on flashes of individual brilliance once or twice a game but hasn't looked impressive either. I'm happy with the result, but anyone pretending we've been playing great football has to come from the Theresa May school of delusion.

And yes, there have been good signs too: morale looks decent, the subs are on point, Torreira has been good (I think he has been effective whoever he's paired with, nothing to do with Xhaka) and both Laca & Iwobi improved greatly compared to last season. But despite all this, we hardly look like a top 4 contender most of the time.

What does any of that have to do with Emery's lineup

Our play is a direct results from his tactics, including his lineups. We looked much better with Ramsey & Aubameyang. Mkhi hasn't been good. Guendouzi > Xhaka still. We'll see at half time, after another insipid first half.

I am more than OK with the line-up. Ozil playing as amc is good to see

Well, looking at the bench, only Auba and Ramsay could arguably be starters. Seem to be a lot of injuries in defence!

4-2-3-1

Ozil at CAM :cloud9:

Iwobi keeps his place, Mkhy on the Right.

Happy enough with this and we will get Auba on I'm sure to kill them off or save us.

Huge match for Ozil btw. Home, in his favoured position surrounded by in form players after a 2 week break and wearing the armband. His season needs to kick off tonight.
