8/10 attacking. 2/10 defending.

Do the math.

Because he is our best attacking outlet at the minute. Pretty much all of our goals are coming from his overlaps and fizzes in

A 35 year old rightback isn’t going to be able to do the same

I’d go as far to say that Hector has been our best player so far this season, more indicative of how shit we’ve been but no-one can deny his importance to our play going forward

Not sure I agree with that. Lichtsteiner also gets forward a lot and can put in decent crosses. Crucially though, he gets back into defend and doesn't lose the ball as much as Hector

Clearly Bellerin is instructed to bomb forward as much as possible

It’s basically what city are doing with mendy, they have their other full back play more conservatively and basically switch to a 3atb with mendy playing as a left winger. It’s the reason sane is starting on the bench

It only looks bad because defensively we still need to develop partnerships and handoffs, once we do that then we’ll look unreal going forward whilst being decent defensively

Honestly I can’t stress enough how important Bellerin’s attacking play is in emery’s system, I think he’s his biggest weapon

Agree with this.

We've not started Lich on the right yet, he looked great on the left and that's not even his position.

He was also getting forward fine for us in that game, he needs to be given game time or what was the point of having him? it aggravates me that we have better players on our bench than who he's starting.

Monreal is back now and his best position is left back, so I can't really see why Lichsteiner is not in at RB already to replace Bellerin.
It's one the early mistakes Emery has made in my view.
Perhaps he is just giving Bellerin time to see if he can work out his defensive duties - I think Emery will soon work out that is a lost cause and Lichsteiner will be in.

Why cause I can see that Bellerin is obviously one of Emery’s most important tactical pieces for us going forward?

Pretty much all of our goals have been cutbacks from the right hand side, doesn’t take a genius why we’re getting through so often

Obvs defensively he could be a lot better but at the minute his attacking contributions are far more important than his defensive ones in this system

When Lucas is bedded in and Sokratis & Mustafi stop being retarded we should look more sure on the right hand side

That and thinking Chelsea has the best midfield just two examples yeah.

Btw you can't praise his attacking contributions when 98% of them are wank. He got 2 assists yesterday but how many times did his crosses fail?

How many times did he play people onside? How many times out of position? He's f***ing shit and you can't just say Lichtsteiner wouldn't do any better cos he's 34 (not 35 as you keep wrongly saying) :dontknow:
