We badly needed Giroud for these 2 games.

I don't care if you think Giroud is **** or whatever, these 2 games against Atletico we had about 50,000 crosses go into the box and apart from only once in the 1st leg there was no one to put them away. A lot of high balls in the air too. Giroud would have scored, I'm totally convinced. Especially the 1st leg.. there were tons of high crosses going in, Giroud always gets on the end on them eventually. Even if he scored a few ugly scrappy headers, it does not matter, we could have gone through.

Really stupid to let him go when we knew from the start that Aubameyang can not play, and this is the only trophy we can actually win.

1000% true. Me and my dad was saying the same thing while watching the game, we need Giroud so much. So many crosses were finding no one.

Just Girouds presence alone causes problems in the box when we cross. They could clear most of the crosses because no one to challenge for them.

Well i calmed down now.

We where never good enough. Showed nowhere near enough fight towards the end.

These two matches have summed us up over the last 4 years and our season which has been a total failure.

The best thing is its all change next season which i will be looking forward to because the club needs change.

Yep....we got a player who couldn’t play in the EL and sold a player who could.....when it was the only comp we had any chance of. Not like Giroud was playing badly either, he was always digging us out of the shit!

There you go....interesting times ahead!

We couldn’t get a decent ball in the box.

Exactly right, Both Monreal and Bellerin were a complete embarrassment. Even when they had time to relax and put a ball into the box they either scuffed it or skied it. We needed a 25ft tall striker last night.
