They didn't bneed to double up on Giroud, Ogbonna had him in his pocket, mixed up with all his old Euros and tissues.

Mike Dean wrote:Wenger buys a 45 million striker.

Keeps him on the bench.

And then brings Welbeck in the match before Laca.

Let that sink in.

I think Lacazette isn't entirely fit.

Regardless, Wenger's grand tactical masterplan this season has been to bench Lacazette.

Even city struggled against these tactics by lowly teams. They got away at the last minute.

Its difficult these games i tell you.

Anyone blames anyone today then he is a complete football Baboon.

Forget the table for a moment the nature of our performances reflect those of a bottom half team

We tried but couldn't get through.

Ozil and Wilshere should have scored though but what can you do.

That's what I mean everyone played hard, Xhaka held back a lot in midfield deep which is what we needed, Wilshere was passing all day especially first half, Ozil dictating play, Sanchez putting in the effort and trying to get something off, we were winning 50/50's.

Just could not penetrate, this is why I ideally wanted both Lacazette and Giroud to start up front together, I knew we had the midfield to dominate but if they park the bus we need more guys to shoot and gets some efforts on goal.

Everything was fine up until the final 3rd, crosses weren't good enough and Giroud can't run at the defence, that was literally all it was.

If you fail to score after making credible effort to create something, after you try to make things happen, change tactics then i am with you. What we saw today was us playing sideways all day around their 18 yard box without any plan as to what to do from there. West Ham created more clear cut chances and were unlucky to score.

The only things that stretch teams are width and pace.Doing stupid one/twos at the edge of the box or going for those intricate passes on the edge of the box is bloody pointless and easy to defend. This game cried out for pace and/or movement, not a lamppost.

Can't blame Giroud for that, everyone knows his game, the dufus Wenger sent us to battle with the wrong weapons.

Frustrating.

At least the Houston Rockets play tonight in a few hours.

Hopefully they win to ease me after this shit show.

Bellerin reserved his place on the bench against Newcastle, he is constatly poor in the last month or so. Niles put 3-4 proper crosses in the box tonight, something that Bellerin was unable to do from the start of the season. Jack and Mesut would have made things happen with Laca in front, no doubts. Monreal: only defender who is constantly solid for us, the other ones are on the form roller-coaster. If we want to take something out of this season, we can not drop more points until the end of the year, as simple as that.

The result says it all. We were good at the back but lacking up top. Anybody who’s been following West Ham recently would know they’re not the same team they were at the beginning of the season, more specifically with defending. Our best forwards should have started this game imo. The game at the weekend is the one where you rotate.

Too late now I suppose
Ramsdale
(Turner/Hein)
White Saliba Gabriel Zinchenko
(Tomiyasu/Niles) (Timber/Holding) (Trusty/Kiwior) (Tierney/Tavares)
Odegaard(c) —- Rice
(Xhaka/Lokonga) —- (Partey/Elneny)
Havertz
(Jorginho/Vieira)
Saka Jesus Martinelli
(Pepe/Nelson) (Nketiah/Balogun) (Trossard/ESR)

Zero creativity .... and yet we're letting the EPL's most creative player leave? .... get used to this utter dross we're going to see a lot more of the same unless we sign a couple of 100m players ......

The is rly were we needed Ramsey. There were a couple of overhit balls that missed giroud at the near post and went right through their defence for easy clearance.

Say what you will about Ramsey but he would have snuck in and got to the end of some of those balls with his late runs. This is something Wilshere lacks.

Big issues. Giroud is tall, but you can literally ignore everyone else and mark Giroud. There were two defenders always marking Giroud when those crosses came in, they knew no one else would be winning headers or scoring of them.

Another pathetic display by a bunch of totally disinterested players and an incompetent manager.

How much longer will the fans put up with such mediocrity.

If AW had any self respect he would resign now and let someone else takeover.
