We didn't look like a unit at all apart from mid way through the second half for a moment but it's understandable given the 11 we put out.

We would look so much better if we had players for their natural positions but I guess it was too hard to buy to change shape during the summer so ho hum.

When Dušan Savić scored that goal in 1978. our commentator screamed " silence fell over Highbury". Had has son scored a goal tonight, instead of hitting the bar, tonight's commentator would not have been able to say the same. Silence would have fallen over the stadium only if Arsenal had scored the goal.

That being said, neither Arsenal is what it was in 1978. and neither we are ( yet). Actually, the only thing that gives Arsenal some semblance of greatness is that man you have on your bench, Arsene Wenger, his manners and demeanour. Not a surprise you want to get rid of him too.

Players not interested, fans not interested, even Wonger made more bizzare selections (at least five players out of position, why?) than normal .... this is our best chance of a European Trophy in years .... wake up

Lets take him off at 70mins like we do Lacazette then put Nketiah to save his arse again.

He only scores puskas winning goals now so if he can't position himself for a worldlie in time, he won't bother.

Walcott approaches the goal at pace with one of his WC dribbles from the wing, Wilshere is open waiving his arms wildly but Walcott ignores him and goes on his own (he know's what needs to be done), as he arrives at the edge of the box the keeper exposed comes out to meet him, Walcott side foots the ball across the box to an open Giroud (how this tortoise is open is a mystery but just go with it) Giroud positioned on the far post awaiting the pass like a baby awaiting his mummy to spoon feed him while making choo choo noises.

Giroud receives the ball, the goal is open, the crowd gasps, DT has a cardiac arrest, he pulls his boot back to shoot ............. suddenly he stops in his tracks "No, this is too easy, this is not Pukas".

Giroud turns and kicks the ball out of play, turns to Walcott and points to the sky indicating he wants it overhead next time.

Walcott looks in despair realising he's failed with another assist as well as his haircut.

One of the most insipid performances I have had the misfortune to attend in my life. Utter dross.

If we don't put out a stronger XI with players in their correct positions, we are not going to advance far in the knock-out rounds.
Leno
Bellerin Sokratis Holding Tierney
Ceballos - Torriera - Özil
Pépé - - Lacazette - - Auba

Let's look at this objectively, lady luck will turn its back on you against City. On top of that, pathetic cheering, London grannies lead it? Selfie fans. As I said, the only semblance of greatness Arsenal has right now, comes from sir Arsene. In the last 26 years we have altogether spent less than you do in a year. Sooo...imagine what kind of gunners we would have been with all that money ;) . And not cannon fodder. Anyway, good night and good luck (Wenger).

Thats all you got to say from this first half?

No walcott is shit. Did you watch the Replay the guy stopped running and pointed with his finger where holding has to run.

I just watch the game.
Still our best player so far, Elneny a midfielder, who plays central defence and runs the whole f***ing game as much he is allowed.
I wish he and giroud would swap positions.

Elneny who always shoots over the goal when he tries to score? Yes great idea brother you Should become Manager you have potential

Elneny stroked the ball into the net from 30 yards n Barcelona

I was one of the 42'000 at Highbury in 78 and the only things the fans were stunned about was that mark heeley came off and no substitute came on allowing 10 men to be caught cold by a counter that may have have been avoided
The reason?
Despite warming up and seeing heeley come of
Substitute kosmina ran down the tunnel to go to the toilet
A ball down the right lead to a fantastic cross and thundering finish
After moaning and muttering many decided not to watch the remaining 3 minutes
The stadium emptied rapidly
This utter bollocks about fans being so much better years ago is just that!
Bollocks
You saw then and you see it now in grounds up and down the country and the world
Fans like winning
To paint Highbury as some shangri la and cauldron of noise is nonsense
That was a great atmosphere early on
It was a European quarter final
We had got the away goal back
It rocked because of circumstance
Just like the Emirates does when we need to win/ equalise in an important game
It was a group game
Back in 78/79
We played Middlesbrough at home 0-0
Yes I was at that as well
Dull dreary and you could have heard a pin drop
