It is just a shame it takes an injury to him to make us realise this. Delighted with our performance today, disappointed in the lack of acknowledgement from Skysports as they alongside many others written us off today. Good set of fixtures now.

Just to put things in perspective.

We beat this very same team twice last season with Ozil and Sanchez running the show.

Today we had 0 attempts on goal in second half. And Lacazette barely saw any service other than the one half chance he got. Since Ozil is an AM, and creates chances, it would have helped.

If you are playing for a draw, then sure, 11 people behind ball will work for you most of the time.

but if you want goals, you will have better chances with your playmakers.

We beat them at home, not away.

With Ozil and Sanchez in, we may have lost, because Conte had his team set up exactly to counter us when Sanchez/Ozil lost the ball, or the midfield lost the ball because of zero support

Thank you ^^. The exact point I am making is that in big away games we can't keep expecting to beat opponents the 'Arsenal way'. The fact that we had 0 shots in target is not worrying today because we created good chances and had a goal offside. Ozil played against Liverpool this season and did we even have an attempt let alone shot on target? Look at the last time we won a big game away... 2015 I believe against Man City... guess who was out injured that day... OZIL! Seriously he needs to be away from the starting 11 in these type of games as it has cost us and will continue to cost us should he remain in there!

alexis costs us in these games too because he doesnt stick to a defensive game plan either.

more than happy to bench both of them in games away from home, bring them on after 60mins once weve worn the oppo down

And how would you know who is sticking to the game plan or not?
Is Wenger reporting to you directly about what he is telling each player to do on the pitch?

Please stop pretending to know who's is doing what is suppose to do, specially when it comes to the most clueless manager on the PL, Wenger.

Well weren't it obvious today that Welbeck & Iwobi tucked into the midfield to help protect Xhaka & Ramsey? Do you think that would've happened with Alexis on the pitch?

That doesn't prove your point, clearly you do not know who is doing his job as planned or not because you do not know what they were told to do in the first place.
So assuming any player would do different from what they were told is just your assumption and not necessarily the truth.

Özil wouldn't do it, Alexis wouldn't do it. Neither of them would've done the job asked of Iwobi & Welbeck today

We've watched them long enough in the big games to know that

iwobi and welbeck as better defenders? sure, i can see that.
also provide less in terms of scoring and creating chances.

the question was already asked... is this the way you want to play every big club...

This season? Yes, we have zero chance against any of them

The only club I'd not be in favour of playing this way against is Man Utd, who'd destroy us on set pieces due to their height advantage

Away from home I don't mind, at home we should be chasing 3 points with our two best players

This thread reads like a lot of people were expecting to be angry after the game, got bamboozled that we didn't fall apart and decided to be angry anyway.

Ah well.

We looked better than Chelsea out there and deserved to win. Very encouraging performance for the next big games.
That's what matters.

Very good draw but that shouldn’t mean the team can now rest on its laurels. Need to follow this up with a convincing win in the reverse fixture.

*Ramsey impressed the most, imo, and the result was a reflection of his performance. He was disciplined and stuck as close as possible to Kante and Cesc. Looked like he was tiring towards the end but should be expected after the shift he put in. How I wish he could use this game as a benchmark for what he needs to do as a CM

*Koscielny, Monreal, Kolasinac, and Cech were solid. Their decision making was pretty much spot on the whole game. Clean sheet fully deserved. Was also about to lose it when Luiz made that leg breaking tackle near the end. Thankfully Kolasinac's made of steel :)

*Mustafi was decent. there were times where the Chelsea players were getting in behind him but besides that he was ok imo. Cleared when he needed to, closed down players pretty well, and even got a goal that was unfortunately ruled offside.

*Bellerin was also ok. Made some good crosses and prevented some crosses from coming in. I also liked the foul he made at the end which slowed down Chelsea’s attack

*Not too mad at Lacazette for the missed chance. Looked difficult. Was never going to be easy for him against a tough Chelsea defense. Highly likely he would have got a goal were we playing a more inferior side

*Iwobi was probably our least impressive player. Possibly the difference between us winning and drawing the game. Still deserves some praise for his work

*Finally, Wenger deserves any praise he gets today. Tactics was near flawless.

I saw how Özil led our reaction to Liverpool's 4 goals earlier this season.
We definitely need him out there to " create chances" .
