Huddersfield have agreed to do a round of a applause on the 22nd minute tomorrow as a mark of respect for Wenger.

Probably see some Huddersfield fans smiling and that

He's been the highest paid manager while not having anywhere near the same level of expectancy as Chelsea or City managers.

To make it clear he said he would leave if he was ever failing the club, he didn't, and he stayed knowing full well no one at the club would fire him.

..........till now.

not his fault they paid him whatever. i still believe that he thought he was the best man for the job, and he still probably does. his desire to win and succeed is relentless but unfortunately he just wasnt up to it

he also didnt leave, technically he got sacked

Not watching this. Hope we win and Wenger goes out with a bang. On to better things after that.

That's what I mean, when I said till now I mean't he's now been sacked.

Fact is you say his desire to win is relentless but it stopped short of doing what's necessary to win, the man tried to single handedly stem player transfer prices on his say so, such is the arrogance of the man.

Right or wrong is not the point, the point is other clubs managers had to win so they got on with it while this guy screams from the sidelines.

Don't get me wrong I do appreciate Wenger of yesteryear, he had a lot of good qualities at the time and his recent interview on us going to the Emirates was to compete at the highest level but then outside money pushed City, PSG etc further ahead of just stadium income is interesting and relevant but he still had more income than teams over taking us so as of the last 5 years he has been failing ........ imo he should of stepped down 2-3 years ago and taken the plaudits, but instead he took the £8m a year (or is it £10m now?)

Snipped...

Well firstly his remuneration is decided by those that own and run the club. Secondly the expectation is set by those who own and run the club - and that, quite clearly was CL football. Once he lost that he hadn’t met his target, and was sacked.

But he does love the club, and he has a supreme confidence in his own ability to turn it around - and he was told by his employers in no uncertain terms that he was wanted.

If you want to blame anyone for what you see as poor target setting or standards, or for Wenger being at the club too long, you really should be looking at the owner and the board. Not Wenger. If I’m not doing my job properly, but I still think I’m the dogs bollocks at it, it’s not up to me to resign. It’s up to my employer to sack me.
