How is it an 'over the top' demand?

Aguero is reportedly not in Guardiola's future plans for Citeh, if they want Alexis how is it unreasonable for us to suggest a p/ex?

We would have to buy a replacement for Alexis if he leaves, would it not make sense to try for Agureo (or Sterling) ?

If Aguero left

1. It would be the equivalent of paying 80m for a player who has 6 months left on his contract.
2. Man City would be left with one main striker (Jesus). With how well Aguero is performing this season, scoring 12 goals in 15 appearances, its safe to say that hes going to see this season out with Man City and win the title.

You don't seem to understand the difference between p/ex and straight swap.

I am talking about part exchanging Alexis who is worth say £20 M to £25M against Aguero who is worth say £80M and giving Citeh the balance of £55M or £60M.

Guardiola does not want to keep Aguero and has said he can leave if Citeh sign Alexis. Aguero has not played so much this season so Citeh would not miss him if they had Alexis

Why should we not bid for Aguero in this way or should we think a player like Aguero is too good for Arsenal?

Who dares wins.

Apologies, I misunderstood what you meant by p/ex but still getting aguero will depend on which striker man city can bring in during January to replace Aguero, its going to be pretty tough during that period. Alexis wouldnt be an exact replacement for a player of Agueros calibre. Im not saying its impossible that he will leave but it wont be until the summer.

Also, Aguero has started 14 premier league games out of 20. Thats is almost 75 percent of games.
