lol, he was trying to save the earlier shots, that required hitting the deck. Many people were to blame for the 2nd goal, Cech was not one of them.

As infuriating as it was, I wish we didn’t have bellends supporting our club like the bloke in front of me who decided to smash up his seat when the winner went in.

Still in shock from this result, I can't comprehend what a sorry state we're in.

Look at the results we get today compared to 6 years ago, how has Wenger allowed it to get to this?

We used to go to teams like Watford and take them out 3-0.

Arsenal lost 2-0 to Watford in the 1986/87 season. It was after a 3-1 win earlier in the season.

Didn't stop them winning the League Cup and the title two years later

throwing yourself on the ground repeatedly is too often taken for sound goalkeeping...

while i still consider myself an adolescent in terms of pure football understanding cos i only been watching seriously for a decade---

throwing yourself to ground is not in my opinion a good GK technique

Just remember, the league is just filler and not important this year. The main focus is the cups and EL.

Don't even care anymore. We'll lose a good few more games this season and finish anywhere between 5th-8th. Wenger had the perfect opportunity to leave after the FA Cup final (again) and held on too long (again). There's nowt to play for, nowt to get excited about this season. For as long as Wenger is in charge and Kroenke owns the club, we're on nothing but a backwards trajectory.

We need a top manager, one who will compete out of pride for his job and own dignity because Kronke won't put any pressure.

We have a soft majority owner who doesn't look at our results as a club, only what the profit report says.

Having a manager who is past it and makes ridiculous decisions, can't motivate his team and misuses his players and loses our best players ........ how is that not a marriage made in hell?

No matter what Kronke does we need a Manager who is competitive, tactically astute to make the most out of the players we field ........... lets be honest, the one thing you can't say is that the manager is given no money to buy players, we bought Ozil, we bought Sanchez, Cazorla now Lacaztte, how does a good manager not get a result out of those players?

As sickening as Kronke is, other teams have crap owners as well, but we have a crap owner and crap manager ......... we can't change the owner, we need the right manager.

There are managers in the league who'd give their left nut to have the finances Arsenal has, yes we'll never spend like City or Chelsea but that's even MORE reason to get a top manager.

The point is Kroenke won't sack Wenger, and whenever Wenger retires, he won't hire a manager capable of propelling us on. We'll hire some cheap, average manager who'll do the bare minimum and keep the profits flowing at that'll be about it.

Then we become Southampton.

However my glimmer of hope is surely that mug Kronke won't let us drop to the point that its damaging the club as a brand?

We turn over enough money to be able to afford decent players, most managers at least have the desire to compete, Wenger has lost that now, that change of attitude alone will be enough to improve us.

I still think Stan and co believe in that top 4 trophy and CL money, if we miss it this year then we'll really see their intentions.

PS - When did you become a cynic lol, never thought I'd see the day where I would have to prop up Callum's hopes for AFC.

Callum is right.

As I stated in another thread, there are three options: either Wenger continues until he's in his mid-70s; he takes up a sporting director role after this contract ends; or, he retires and chooses his successor at Arsenal. In all three scenarios, we are screwed. As manager, Wenger is finished. As a sporting director, he'd remain the de facto manager. And, when he chooses his successor, either he will pick a chump or the incumbent manager will have a mighty task of revamping Arsenal's footballing identity, image, and style of play - that it would take us at least 4-5 years to reach the level that is befitting of Arsenal.
