The club has no need to challenge for the title from a business perspective. In fact, it would be more expensive to go for the title, with the potential risk of still missing out. This is Kroenke's viewpoint.

Mike Ashley has made a profit out of Newcastle....... so imagine how far we'd have to fall for Kroenke not to

Look at the results we get today compared to 6 years ago, how has Wenger allowed it to get to this?

We used to go to teams like Watford and take them out 3-0.

And I was one of the 3'000 arsenal fans that saw us lose 3-0 at Watford at the tail end of 85/86 season
Loads of disgruntlement and anger aimed at the board
We were under caretaker manager Steve burtenshaw
And it came a day after an Easter Monday 2-0 home defeat to watford( a bad winter had created fixture congestion)
The Highbury game kicked off at 11-30 am in front of 19,000
One month later george graham was appointed and made a success of largely the same team
He managed to harness the young players don Howe had brought thru
Funny enough of the two he jettisoned keown looked a much better prospect than Adams but he wanted more money
Graham brought him again later
The other woodcock had probably gone over the edge
He was a fine player who would have fitted well with better arsenal sides
The point is
The board didn't suck their thumbs scared of what we may wish for
The went and got a bright young manager who had played for the club knowing that had it not paid off they could go again
Oh for such ambition from the head up their arse c****
