Belgium game was boring cos both had shit sides out and Belgium are boring af as well.

Sounds like everyone is boring.

France are decent, Denmark were good until Croatia made them fall asleep in extra time. Brazil were at the start but got better in their last 2 games.

U are boring tho.

Bizarre reaction to what I posted but ok.

France were awful in the groups

Now that was dull

But they did their job in the last 16 so can be forgiven

Their win v Uruguay wasn't exciting either

Agree about France in the groups, they were awful but since then they've been better imo. Weren't exciting vs Uruguay but it was a good win without being really troubled at the back.

This WC has been boring after the group stages. Obvs won't be boring for fans of Ingurland, Belgium, Croatia, and Africa. Talking from a neutral's pov.

Three games worth remembering as I mentioned earlier: Arg/Fra, Bel/Bra, and Bel/Jap.

Croatia have been dull the entire tourney except for us making them look like world champs elect.

England have been meh. No creativity whatsoever.

Brazil were mechanical. God knows what happened to the dynamic Brazil that I grew up watching. They play like Italy usually do these days.

The French haven't excited either and as mentioned, were awful in the group stages.

Belgium have been the most exciting team to watch tbh.

Not surprised that the quality has nosedived. This is what happens when Germany and Argentina exit the WC so soon because these two are the only sides that play entertaining football. Historically, Netherlands do as well but whatever.

2014 World Cup SFs: Germany, Argentina, Netherlands, Brazil

2018: England, Croatia, France, Belgium

The 2014 Netherlands and Brazil teams were worse than any SFs now to be honest. Arguably 2014 Argentina too.

Entertainment-wise this has been one of the best World Cups.

In terms of quality individuals and teams this has easily been the very worst World Cup. There has not been one standout consistent player whatsoever and we are in the semi finals.

In 1990 it was Mattahus, Squillachi and Gasgcione
In 1994 it was Baggio, Stoichkov and Romario
In 1998 it was Ronaldo, Zidane, Bergkamp and Suker
In 2002 It was Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo and Khan
In 2006 it was Zidane, Cannavaro and I know I'm biased but Riquelme
In 2010 it was Xavi, Iniesta, Villa, Sneijder and Forlan
In 2014 It was James (Messi was great till the semis)

This year not one player has consistently been class. Been the old amazing matches from Mbappe, CR7, Pickford, Hazard, Lukaku, Coutinho but no real standout world class performer consistently. Maybe Rebic who has been quality in every match is a dark horse for the Golden Ball?

Kane is top scorer because of 3 penalties and 3 goals vs Championship/League 2 standard teams.

There is a good recent video with a kid playing football with an 100 year old pure leather ball whoch really emphasises how much easier it is to score great goals like Pavard and Nacho did along with Cherseycev, Cristianos free kick etc.. So those of you who say its better than the 1930's 1950s, 60s etc... thats a totally different era which was far harder to play in than now.

This World Cup has been great in how open it has been for neutral excitement and also showing how rubbish the general quality of the game is nowadays. Sweden who are basically a top Championship side got to the quarters with hoofball. England with no creativity whatsoever and a terrible midfield in the semis? The new Germany has finally lost its old famed efficency for its new trendy bling culture. South American football is being left behind in regards to defence (Bar Uruguay).

The sad thing is club football has become predictable, tedious and boring so despite a new manager for us gooners to look forward to, the rest of the football landscape will not provide the same excitement, drama and unpredictabillity this World Cup has.

The world of football has never been so open, its a shame the next world cul will be a total farce in Qatar in winter because the anticipation for that tournament and the world we will be living in 2022 will be a sight to behold.

Still can't believe that chance Robben missed, the prick.

If that was RVP Holland are World Cup winners.

Oh God, no.

Tottenham had World Cup winners villa and ardiles in the side when we played them at white hart lane in 78/79
Spurs 0 arsenal 5
We also went on to win the fa cup that year
Tottenham won f**k all
I'm English
I want England to win the World Cup

It's really funny to read all the comments in this supposedly Arsenal Forum wanting a Spurs dominated Mourinho inspired Stoke City style of a team winning the World Cup.

And please just don't refer England with a "we" or "us".

I am English
I reserve the right to refer to my national side as we or us
I also watched the bore fest that was France v Denmark
The shocking ( now forgotten because of the end result) first half that croatia played v Argentina
Plus their 2 very dull knockout games v Denmark and Russia
I' m old enough to have seen very workmanlike arsenal sides and lucky enough to have seen some very good ones
The bottom line is the best ones are the ones that won anyway anyhow anywhere

I was wondering about this yesterday.

So, the intra-Londo , anti-Tottenham vibe is more important to Londoners than the pro-National Team vibe?

Can this be set up as a poll?

Wonder no more
It's only among people who thinking hating Spurs is a fast track route to acceptance as a gunner
I couldn't give a f**k about Spurs
Our rivals are whoever we have to beat to win
I think about them twice a season plus when we play them in a cup
What do you think of Tottenham?
I don't
