Don't like Kane being captain, makes him undroppable , as good as he is, we seen it a lot of times particularly with Rooney and kane himself in 2016 where they look slow and tired at these tournemant , if Kane doesn't do anything after two games we got vardy, he won't come in now, Henderson should have been skipper.

Kane has said we can win the World Cup

Looks like he's claiming the win from whoever does win it.

Even though Radja has hundreds of games of experience as CM/DM, Martínez says he considers Nainggolan as 'an advanced midfielder'.

Ridiculous, of course, which suggests Martínez has solely tracked his performances during the 2016-17 season. [Spaletti had no option but to use Radja as make-shift CAM in Totti's absence.]

Nainggolan ended up having 2016-17 season, albeit in a different role.

Over the last year or so, RM has argued he 'can't give him the same advanced role' at the national team and therefore made 'the difficult decision' not to include Il Ninja in his selection.

With those statements he hints that Nainggolan is only able to excel in one role. Bunk, of course, as he's widely regarded as one of the most versatile midfielders in world football, who'd made a name for himself as a CM, years before Spaletti decided to temporarily use him in an advanced role.

Martínez has included the following midfielders in his preliminary squad:

    T. Hazard → Great season at Gladbach, fully warranted

    Dembélé → Acceptable, though injury-prone

De Bruyne → Speaks for itself

Fellaini → Can live with his selection but shouldn't be starting against noteworthy opposition

Chadli → Struggled to get game time at West Brom

Witsel → Money whore who has spent the last 1.5 year playing Disneyball in China. He's also an interminable sideways pass merchant, famously known for taking one million touches before eventually playing a lateral ball. Infuriating player to watch.

Tielemans → Has had a difficult season at Monaco. Only natural DLP in the squad, could prove useful

Januzaj → Can't comment on his performances for Vigo, but he's expected to miss out on the 23-man squad

For most managers Nainggolan would be the second midfielder on the team sheet, behind KDB, but, no, not for Everton washout Bobby Martínez.

Ridiculous for a manager not to be aware of a player's preferred position. How can that even be? Hasn't he watched Rajda play before?

While I don't follow Rajda, I only ever saw him play as a CM/DM.

Martinez is such a mediocre manager. Won't be surprised if Belgium underperform. That midfield, all of a sudden, looks weak. All on the attack now. The defence is good tho.

Belgium's hopes were always on Hazard and KDB who underperform in big games for the NT anyway. Could put a sack of potatoes in CM, it won't make a difference.

Lukaku choke job incoming in the knockouts as well.
