Cause they have paid way too much doesn't mean the player is worth it.
IIRC Transfermarkt calculates player values on performances and not simply on the price tag.

My point was, United made use of the privilege to be able to spend more than any club in the world on incoming players, thus have a greater chance of improving their squad than we do, but (just like us) still they still manage to look bang average.
