i mean I dunno who let him on it but if there's one obvious thing that would be the first thing I'd do against Robben is show him ONTO HIS RIGHT f***ing FOOT. Please tell me it was just a right footed wonder strike and not yet another piece of retarded defending from our lot, i heard the strike was good but that doesn't excuse it if he's cut inside from the right.

Yh look at that absolutely disgraceful defending from Coquelin, would sell him just for that tbh. Schoolboy stuff.

Forget Robben, Coq has to know Gibbs and Iwobi are to his left and that side is pretty much covered. Closing the middle was the only the decision there was to make.
The sad thing is he doesn't.

His lack of awareness during the entire game last night was unbelievable - misplaced passes, poor positioning, losing the ball. Basic stuff wasn't even done.

That said, it wasn't just coq.

25% possession??

FS - we had to kick off five times - that alone gives us possession....

I mentioned before the game how trust was important if we wanted any chance at winning this.

1. Coq in this gif clearly had no trust in his teammates to his left which prevented him from focusing on his job.
2. For Lewandowski's header, Gibbs didn't trust Iwobi to take Robben which allowed Lahm plenty of time to put his cross in.
3. Not sure who to blame for Thiago's second. Looks to me like Coquelin or Mustafi couldn't trust the other to win the header leaving one of them out of position and unable to deal with the threats outside our box. In any case, having two players going for the same ball doesn't look right to me
4. Despite Ox giving the ball away for Bayern's fifth goal, he did ok in trying to prevent the goal. The problem with this goal imo was Gabriel. When the ball came out to Muller, Gabriel didn't trust Ox to deal with the situation allowing Muller to easily cut in and curl in the fifth.
5. The less said about Thiago's first goal, the better

TL;DR: Basically, we played like individuals and completely opposite to how I said we should play before the game started

Even if someone else's was give the armband the score line would still be the same, can imagine Mustafi going into overdrive with instructions had Kos given it to him.

Thats how pathetic this club under wonga has become, it used to mean something to have the captain's armband but now they give it to the nearest player. FFS

"He remains an excellent mentor but a questionable task master"

very well put.

the time to fall on your sword has come. do the honorable thing.

also, its a shame that Ozil and Xhaka did nottake their chances late 1st half.

or even ozil early 2nd... turning in the box and accidentally backheeling it OOB. thats some very weak sauce there.

Our issue is that we're shit, yet teams take us seriously.

This is why big teams rarely lose to us. We're shit, but they don't treat us as a shit team, but as a great one and play their best.
