Shows the vast difference between top team squads and the rest ... Southampton 1st eleven go to Anfield and get a result, with 10 changes they looked like a pub side ... we made 10 changes and hardly dropped at all .... down the road the Spuds made 10 changes and nearly lost at home to a Div II side ...
Said it a few times, our squad is up there with Chelskis ... we just lack another two or three very top players ... fantastic to see us maintain our 'flat track bully' reputation, we can win this competition again no problem ....

happy we got through and in style, but it wasnt the usual southampton side. Once we beat them in the league, it will be a more fulfilling away win at st marys.

He scored at Southampton in the fa cup in his Man Utd days
That was the opening goal as well

Ozil 4 goals and 3 assists v bayern Munich
You would expect him to have some involvement over 2 legs

Agree

Ozil this season in the CL - played 6, scored 4, assisted 3. Total = 7.

Alexis this season in the CL - played 6, scored 2, assisted 5. Total = 7.

Guess we should drop Alexis against Bayern too.

Yes because as I completely clear to anyone with a pulse, our involvement in the CL is the definition of pointless. We have a chance in the FA Cup so put all the effort here.

Same sort of comments were made when we went out of the fa cup at Bolton in 05/06 and had Real Madrid coming up
Might as well not turn up

I am all for optimism but come the f*ck on be realistic.

We have played Real Madrid once and beat them over 2 legs
Over the 15 seasons we have played Man city under wenger we have got the better of them in the two games in 10 of those seasons and drawn in one of them
We have failed to stay in the tie in many of our champs league exits and given ourself a mountain to climb.
That's been the problem

southampton putting out a gash team aswell, shane long is their captain ffs

Reed, classie and hjoberg are all natural central midfielders. We dont have a single one on the pitch

Ox will do a job there. We have a decent attack though which is the most important thing. Should be able to get a few against Southampton's defence.

Glad they've put a weak team out aswell otherwise we I wouldn't of fancied our chances at all.

Worst team we have put all season imo. Zero balance in that team

Worst arsenal team got biggest away win in 7 and half years
Bodes well for when we play our best team

Welbeck is shit but good goals. Ox is shit but has run the game. Perez and Theo only players that should start next game.

Gardos clean sheet against us and at old Trafford a couple of seasons ago
Stephens a clean sheet at anfield in the week

Jesus, really?

That's what Robbie said on AFTV yesterday. Haven't won on their ground in the longest time. I couldn't believe it myself when I heard that.

13 years ago with a pires goal
We had lost 2 and drawn 3 on the 5 visits since
