Other than self respect?

I suppose it depends on whether you were an Arsenal fan just ten years ago, when we had a team which competed against Barcelona in the CL final, beat Real, and pretty much beat anyone coming out of Germany or Italy annually.

Now move to the last 5 years - 1st leg hammerings in the round of 16 and a CL exit in order to concentrate on.......wait for it....4th place in the EPL.

Players have changed in that time - but the manager hasn't.

Anyone on here who is having a moan, is doing so because Arsenal are going BACKWARDS in terms of football.

Arsene and the PLC can spin it any way they want and if idiots want to buy into that spin, well it's like gobshi**s who vote for lying politicians time after time - those kind of people won't listen to facts.

Arsenal fans who remember the team from 10 years ago can't get their heads around the fact that in the last ten years:

1. Arsenal now have much more money to buy world class players than 10 years ago, but choose not to
2. Arsenals manager persists with players who are patently past it - Arteta, Merts, Flamini as 3 examples
3. Arsenals manager persists with players who are not good enough at top level - Giroud, Ox, Kocielny as 3 examples
4. Arsenals manager persists in overplaying/bringing back from injury too early the world class player we have - Sanchez for instance.
5. Our other world class player - Ozil - is incapable of showing any kind of leadership on the pitch

10 years ago, we had a TEAM, a SQUAD of hard working, committed and (in some cases) world class players. NOBODY fkd with that team. NOBODY. They operated on a "One for all" basis every time they went on the pitch - from Looney Lehmann to TH14 - you messed with them at your peril.

Now? Seriously.................Cech stands alone at the back, possibly Alexis up front as players who look like they give a bo**ix. The rest of them shrug their shoulders and look for someone else to blame when (not if) it goes tits up.

that's what absolutely frustrates the hell out of me - our manager has allowed his own standards to slide into mediocrity and as a result the players echo that drop in standards.

We lost which wasn't unexpected. People are dissapointed that the tie is over - history repeating its self. When we conceeded the first everybody and his dog knew that we would conceed a second - not in the comical fashion we did but that was the census.

Suaraez should have had a second 5 minutes before that peno.

My signature will never change as this team never learns - they played the game yet again after conceeding like it was a 20 minute game instead of a further 110 minute game.

We will never learn.

Maybe you have missed that the PL in general has become a shit league compared to the best in Europe. Bar Chelsea nearly every other PL team was poor in the last five years in any european competition. Cause of that the PL will drop out of the Top3 and lose a CL starting point next season if no miracle occurs. Even Ligue1 and the Premjer Liga are able to overtake the PL if the trend continues.

eh no, Schland I didn't miss anything, so why quote me and then refer to something I never discussed??

But now that you're mentioning the PL - I'm in full agreement with you.

The EPL is the Emperors new clothes- hyped out of all proportion by SKY, the sponsors and those who gain a living from it. They are a bloated pig getting fatter and fatter on sponsorship money and SKY dress up games like Hull Vs Fulham as some sort of epic encounter...FFS :rofll:

Football wise the EPL is slipping further and further behind the rest of Europe. If you want 100MPH football with loads of camera angles, hey the EPL is the place to be.

But if you want to see the evolution of modern football watch Spain, Germany, Italy and now France. They're all trying to move forward. The EPL, (just like Arsenal) are moving backwards.

If you look at Özils heatmap he played a lot on the side of the pitch where Alves was playing.

He mostly moved shortly after the halfway line from the left side to the middle of the pitch maybe the most shitty LW heatmap I have ever seen so far.

I'm guessing that's the trend for most of Alexis' matches since he's come back from injury

Let's hope that Welbz plays on the weekend and frees him up a bit
