A win is never pointless
We have won the league on goal difference 88/89 after winning 2-0 at liverpool
It was not negated by our 3-2 home defeat to aston villa that season
Nor was our 2-0 home win over spurs in 70/71 rendered pointless by our 2-1 defeat at huddersfield
Nor was our 3-0 home win v liverpool in 90/91 made redundant by our 2-1 loss at chelsea
Nor was our 3-2 home win v man utd made obsolete because of our 2-0 defeat at Sheffield weds in 97/98
Nor was our 2-1 win at anfield in 01/02 made worthless because of our 4-2 home defeat at home to charlton in 01/02
You pick yourself up and go again as always

Well it's not.

If we lose to City they get 3 we get 0. After today they'd have 6 we'd have 0.
If we draw against City they'd have 4 after today and we'd have 1.
We beat City then we have 3 after today and they have 3.

No scenario apart from the exact reverse of what is currently happening (City beat us lose to Sunder, we lose n beat Saints) would render it pointless.

#SnoreOffMesut :sneaky:

You're missing my point. We worked so hard to beat City and gain a 4 point lead. Only to be back to where we where the very next week against a Southampton who have played exactly as we knew they would. Our fixture list second half of the season is probably the hardest of the title contenders. We really need to create a decent lead if we are to win the league imo.

Same second half as it is the 1st
Same teams
Same every year
It's all bollocks
Win the league you deserve it
No harder or easier ride
When sides are on that title run home or away makes not a jot of difference

6 points dropped lol.

Last time we lost an energy sapping 3-2 Boxing Day fixture at Coventry in 1999 we beat leeds at home 2-0 2 days later

Not now!

Not once did I believe we could win the league. A team who rarely controls matches wont win a league as every match is a good chance to drop points. there simply isnt enough quality in the squad to last whole season. We are talking about the weakest PL ever and we will still be short. Good news is the near is close for wenger

Premier league was weaker in 96/97 97/98 98/99 00/01 and 10/11

12/13
Walcott hat- trick giroud scoring within 2 mins of coming on and a late goal from koscielny all still here

They f**k the shit up in midfield, our weakass hobbits getting dominated.

Clasie is about 5'7" and JWP no taller than 6ft I imagine

Wanyama is 1.88 though. He destroyed our midfield while Claise didnt leave Özil alone for a second.

We dont have player who can physically matchup Wanyama. Ramsey getting his ass kicked. Thats why you sign players like Kondogbia and Wanyama to add strength your midfield.

Wilshere had a very good game v wanayama 2 seasons ago in the 2-0 win when giroud nicked the ball off the keeper to score then converted a penalty after mertesacker was fouled
