Firstly, it was good to see our team playing with incisiveness as opposed to the all too familiar tippy tappy football and limited creation of chances.
More important than the win for me was seeing Wenger showing tactical initiative for once. Kicking off with more or less our strongest team, and making substitutions to reflect the status of the game. 3-0 job was done. Man U were starting to retain possession in the mid 2nd half and were trying to pile on the pressure. Wenger responded with bringing on Gibbs, Ox and Giroud in order to keep our clean sheet. Gibbs to slot into a wing-back player if you like, offering greater defensive power. Giroud to attempt to hold the ball up top or within Utd's half and Ox to offer fresh legs to run at their defense. Also meant that Ozil, Sanchez and Walcott were not ran into the ground.
Very pleasing to see them beautiful triangle link up plays between speicifcally Ozil, Sanchez, Walcott and Santi. We play consistently like we did in this game and with Wengers apparent new-found tactical initiative - the league is there for a serious challenge.
