We are not giving Portugal enough credit.

Massive underdogs playing a Euro Finals against a very talented host nation. 8 minutes into a finals match they lose their best player and really their best hope of securing a goal to beat the heavily favored French side. They could have easily catered and no one would blame them. At that point everyone expected France to cake walk to the trophy. Instead, Portugal dug in, kept fighting, kept growing in confidence as the match progressed, and actually produced two best chances in the extra time. One hit the post, the other went in the net.

If it had been England, everyone here would be raving about heart and determination etc. etc.

Portugal are the classic underdog story.

If someone before the tournament had said what's least likely to happen from the following

1 - wales semi final
2 - Iceland QF
3 - Portugal winning it

All would have chosen 3.

And to do it in the final having the best player in the world injured and to overcome that disappointment, what a night.

Seriously? Portugal lost probably a mediocre player and managed to bring their best player of the tournament Quaresma on early. I expected them to win from there. Quaresma is quality. Current form Ronaldo is not

Overall the quality wasn't great but ultimately the tournament will be remembered for the winners and therefore it was a great tournament.

They're not wrong. You can't honestly say this was an enjoyable Euros. Unless it's the first Euros you've seen.
