Another good performance from Koscielny by the way.

Potential to be in the team of the tournament.

dont think we can ASSUME Sami and Mario would've made the difference..

but its very, very obvious that Muller is entirely dependent on having a GOOD striker to play off.

ozil? he's the midfield equivalent of Giroud. averages out as a good player, not great. has ups and downs.

today? passenger.

how the Germans miss Klose!

Tactical trolling. Don't fall for it. No way Ozil was bad today.

True, surrounded by players who can't score. Müller 0 in 11 euro games, fraud; Draxler is pants; was like watching Arsenal last season

I dont think France has been impressive. They got the two goals because of German defense's stupidity, not because of brilliant play.

Its more like Germany's injuries/suspension and their lack of a true striker has finally caught up to them.

A healthy and full German team with Gomez would have finished this French side.

Exactly. France are shite, just depends on the ref on Sunday.

France scored two legitimate goals. First one was a clear penalty. You simply cannot lead with arm, make contact and get away. So i don't see the fuss. Germans lost cos they were toothless uo front.

No one said they weren't legitimate.

They scored because of Germany's mistakes, not because their own brilliance. They were thoroughly outplayed by Germany in the first half. The penalty gave France some momentum in the second half.

Had Gomez, not been out, the results could have very well been very different.

We have seen how Germany struggled without Gomez at the beginning of the tournament and Gomez isnt even very good. But just his presence and him being a true #9, opened things up for Muller and German's midfielders.

yup. Tried everything. Spreading play, running with the ball but having no striker killed his and German chances.

This is the first game French were solid defensively and even then Lloris had to make some saves at the end. UEFA picks 23 men, so he'll probably make that. I think there are at least two better CBs though.

Ozil was good. Germans retained possession. He did his job.

Unfortunately, you are not really getting most out of Ozil without good finishers.

Germany, welcome to the world of Arsenal.

Two teams with history of having some of the world's best strikers, now cant seem to find one.

Arsenal~Fanatic wrote:So Giroud's performance in the last game becomes irrelevant for the argument cos it is rule to overlook anything good done by him but bash him every time he misses an opportunity. Everyone knows he is not top quality but far more heavily rated Strikers have had a stinker this Euros. Actually it is getting tiresome to see the narrative go on irrespective of what Giroud does.

His last game was against Iceland. Let's not overrate them because they beat England, by far the worst 'big' team of the last 50 years.

Why are people going on about Germany's lack of goalscorers?

The only attacker they are missing from the World Cup is Klose and he was a sub who scored one goal in the 7-1 rout against Brazil.

It wasn't a problem then.
