yea i'm sure ospina would have struggled to punch the ball away 3 times in a match. :crybaby:

Quite frankly he's very shaky in that area.

Szczesny's movement was interesting. One of my friends picked it up while watching. He favored a specific area and came out, went back fairly methodically. It all seemed planned out. We both wondered if Wenger gave him very specific instructions.

It looked like he had done his homework defo. Maybe they went over the general areas that Benteke likes to take up going forward.
Either way, he nullified the threat repeatedly and defo contributed to the fact that villa only had 2 shots off target for the whole game.

I celebrated by eating a peanut-laced curry by accident and having to have an ambulance called out because I thought I was going to die

Yes this was a great tactic. They clearly planned in advance to nullify Benteke's threat from crosses. It won't work against a superior team, but that's what tactical foreplanning is there for. Shows Wenger still has it in him; hope we see this consistently next season.

Villa's only trick was to cross it into to Benteke and we countered that well by keeping their full-backs pinned back and being aggressive when clearing crosses. He was ineffective and they had no Plan B.

funny thing yesterday

about 20 seconds before Alexis scored I said to my son Craig 'Sanchez first touch letting him down today, might be trying a bit too hard not really on it today' to which he says:

'yes Dad but he only needs one chance'
older than most of you put together

Just a little bit of information for people who said that had we gone 2-0 down v villa there would have been no way back
96/97
Losing 2-0 at villa with 20 mins to go
Merson70
Linighan90
01/02
Losing 2-0 home to villa half time
Wiltord 46
Henry 72/90
11/12
Fa cup
Home to villa
