I rate Mourinho very highly but this is not the game where one should be using to gloat his tactical acumen. There were no tactics from Mourinho. It was a case of shove in am many midfielders as you can even at the cost of a Striker and defend in two banks of five. Mourinho came here for a draw and he got that. Fair enough but it was not like he did that with a bargain basement team of half baked players he did that with a top quality team.

Mourinho has become ultra negative these days. Football is a result oriented business but the extremes to which this has been taken by Chelsea this season is beyond sanity. Parking the bus as soon as you go is one goal up is not brilliant tactics.

Bottom line is they've scored two more goals than us at this point and five less than City. So the stats dont support them being negative. Their defence has been superb and there lies the key to their winning the league this year.

It takes two to tango in any 0-0. If the tables were turned and we were a few points from winning the league, you would be delighted with a 0-0 away against a big club.

Don't worry about it man.

Next season the guy is certain to fail. it's Madrid all over again for Jose. This Cheslea team isn't really much different to City's team a few years ago, its built for the short term. This defensive style he incorporates will only get him so far. Chelsea have won it this year on virtue of every team playing like shit for long specific periods during the season. Especially at the beginning of the season.

Where Jose will fall is next season we will not give up such a huge gap so easily at the beginning of the year, when his team will be put under pressure to go out and win, his negative tactics or 'tactical genius' in parking his bus will not save him.

Disagree, I see them being stronger next year or as strong, he has built a very strong unit. They only lost 2pl games, his not stupid Jose, he knows the team needs anouther evolution to have a chance in the cl. I see him getting a good dm/cm and a winger maybe striker to replace drogba to. They aren't just going to collapse

imo this match showed us that we need a RW more than we need a striker. when elite teams like chelsea park the bus its impossibly hard to break them centrally, but they left a lot of space on the wings, especially in the latter stages of the game. since theo is as good as gone, i would rather splash out mad money on pacey RW/SS than on a CF.

You're right i reckon we should either get that AOC or Walcott from Arsenal.

Just out of curiosity I calculated the percentage share of one goal advantage wins by the Top4, well kind of interesting results

Chelsea has won 10 PL matches (23wins total) with a one goal advantage (4x 1:0) -> percentage share of total wins -> 43.47%
We have won 10 PL matches (20wins total) with a one goal advantage (3x 1:0) -> percentage share of total wins -> 50%
ManCity has won 6 PL matches (20wins total) with a one goal advantage (3x 1:0) -> percentage share of total wins -> 30%
ManUnited has won 8 PL matches (19wins total) with a one goal advantage (2x 1:0) -> percentage share of total wins -> 42.1%

Hell of a difference there.

Bradford is a team that doesn't want to take the incentive in a game like that and Mourinho is forced to change his tactic and to attack for a change - which he is unable to do and gets 4 goals in the process.

WHen playing Arsenal, he know that we'll take the ball while his team can sit up on the 16 yard box and wait for their chance on the counter.

Maybe. But keep in mind that Chelsea actually led this game by 2-0, which is pretty much Chelsea's favored result. Bradford leading from the beginning and securing the victory is one thing but they needed to come back from a two goal deficit which makes the thing so much harder.

You can blame Mourinho for his defensive tactics all you want, but the fact is that Chelsea DID NOT park the bus in the first half, created many dangerous opportunities and were much more likely to score a goal than Arsenal. Possession stats during half time were nearly equal.

Mourinho knows Wenger can't really hurt him so he doesn't need to park a bus for 90 mins. Look at past results and you know it's true. Arsenal haven't scored in 5 matches against Chelsea since Mou came back.

I'd understand being frustrated if you just couldn't score a goal, but in reality you barely created chances, except the one near the end.

Our stats are kind of screwed by our persistence in scoring 2-3 goals, then shipping out 1-2 and making the match interesting

Case in point just from memory:- QPR, Newcastle, Palace

Get a grip.

Chelsea spent about 20 minutes of the game knocking it between the back 4. They sat deep in 2 defensive lines.

They one excellent chance on the counter, we has 2 chances in one at the death.

You don't just blaze through a mourinho side whose soul purpose is to not concede.

It's not the worst result, it takes us further away from man u and on course to overtake city.

No point jumping off the bridge for this result.

Dude we struggled to beat burnley 1-0. We are just not good in creating and attack. We are stuggling. Maureens teams are solid but you cant expect us to score goals when the strikers are on the bench displaced by midfielders out of position.

We created nothing clear cut thats a problem.

Chelsea struggled to beat burnley at home this season
So much so they didn't
They drew 1-1

And so what?? They drew with burnley. They also have 10 points ahead off us.Its easy.At least counter the posts decently .They drew against burnley and are 10 points clear today. We beat burnley 10 points behind leaders. Their goal difference is also higher than ours

Then why raise burnley?
In a mini league we took more points off of burnley than chelsea
We are not 10 points behind chelsea because of a 1-0 wn at burnley or because of a home draw with chelsea
It is because of losing a lead at leicester after sanchez put us in front
Losing a lead at home to hull after sanchez put us in frnt(wilshere had a god game that day as did ramsey when he came on)
A below par team performance at Everton
Stoke away where only sanchez and the ox had good games
And Swansea away where sanchez put us in front and once again ox had a good game
As the gentleman above you said you can't moan about everything you must pinpoint the real problems and only winning 1-0 at burnley where we had not won in 5 league visits since radford and Kennedy were helping us to our 1st double is not one of them

They have been a huge embarrassment
I couldn't give a f**k when people called us boring when we were winning titles and I don't expect chelsea to give a f**k either
Take your lumps
Clap the champions elect as well your own off the pitch then come back and make sure it's you that are the champions next season
Not wish washy shit like ain't it great just to be in the champions league and ohh ain't we done well in the calendar year
The league runs from august to May that is all that matters

Cos you got cocky v Bradford and thought all you had to do was turn up to win.

We're better than them so you respected us and parked the bus.

Anyway I've read Terry has commented on the boring boring chants as well. Damn it must have got to them. Yes they have won the title but much like the previous two no one will remember the titles. Only the boring football.

I know Jose won it in 04/05 but that season is remembered for liverpools CL win more than anything Chelsea did.

And the season later but once again overshadowed by a record breaking run to the CL final by a fellow London club. Can't remember which. Maybe Tottenham.

Just realised Chelsea won the double as well recently? Lol. Does anyone even remember that? Most pointless double in history. Was it the 10/11 season?

No such thing as a pointless double
It was achieved by ancelotti
The man whose hand we should have bit off when chelsea sacked him
