Title is well out of reach. We've left ourselves too much to do. If we hadn't been so shite in the first few months we'd be in with a shout but some of those early season results (e.g. draws vs. Leicester and Hull) have cost us.

Best we can hope for is 2nd and retaining the FA Cup which would be pretty respectable.

Yup, and every expert pundit in the sky sports studio would have told you that chelsea would win at a canter with a 1 man advantage for practically a whole match v PSG.

That they would steam roll Burnley.

that Cesc and costa would finish the season as they started but none of that has happened.

No one is saying it's a foregone conclusion and some people just cant entertain hope, but mourinho has been in commanding positions before and choked hard (last year).

There's still a lot of games left to play and their form is patchy at best, while our form seems to be steady in the prem at least.

It's a bit much comparing one off games to what might happen from now til the end of the season. In a one off game anything might happen. Over a period of a season, the best usually comes out on top and unfortunately chelsea are that. Jose is regarded as the best manager in the world for a reason whether he's liked or not.

It's the hope that kills you so best not to have any in the first place. The title is gone. Just being realistic. If they had no games in hand then by all means I'd be banging the we're in the title race louder than anyone but they do and they are both at home v a mid table southampton side who can't score and nothing to play for and a relegated leicester. We're out.

On a side note, I was the one on here who said Cesc would turn out shit even after his blistering start amidst much abuse and laughter. I'll just sit here smugly. Not the type to say I told you so.

You are right Cripps. Everything you've said is spot on.... But its not going to change anything. Until its mathematically impossible we're all going to keep hoping. Even though I know we're going to lose against Monaco and Chelsea :(

Everyone knows Cesc fades, tires or gets injured in the second half of a season, there are stats up every year that show this so you can't sit so smugly yet Oracle Cripp.

Its a tall order, but things change and miracles happen.

There were people on here that swore blind we wouldn't win a trophy under AW.

We did.

People at the start of the season were talking about life without CL.

People were bigging up man u and LVG when they were 3rd.

People refused to believe city's early stutters weren't anything more than a blip.

people were cracking up when some of us mentioned 2nd place not too long ago.

Some refused to believe AW could beat a traditional top 4 side.

Mourinhos side were being talked about in the same breath as the Invincible's.

Mourinhos side was being talked about for the treble.

Mourinhos side was being lauded for their football. Now its park the bus time.

The more he refuses to rotate properly, the more his players tire, more mistakes, bigger chances of injury.

Its improbable, but I honestly don't think the gap between them and 2nd will be that big. The gap between them and 1st could be 1 point but that's just based on hope at the moment rather than calculated confidence.

Still, games like v PSG just show that even when they park the bus, they can be got at.

All to play for.

Funny how "everyone" kept their mouth shut when I was one of the few but definitely the loudest on why I didn't want Cesc back here for this reason but now what I expected to happen is happening, others are trying to say they said the same which is BS. That picture of that stat of Cesc fading away was probably created recently. I've been saying it for ages.

If I was confident in this team to go on a long winning streak like in 97/98 and 01/02 when we won the title then I'd be up there with you but I'm not. I have no doubt chelsea will drop more points. So will we. They can afford to. We can't.

I hope to God I'm wrong and we win it but alas I hate being right :(

Chelsea giving up their position does not hinge upon Fabregas. It's so unlikely that they will not win the league.

Is this the first time that these six have ever started a match together???

Ever since we signed Alexis this is what most believed to be our strongest line up and since Coq's emergence,

Feel bad for Welbeck but excited to see how this goes.

Yes mat 1st time they have ever been on the pitch all together

Ramey has scored 3 for wales
Ozil has scored 4 for germany

That was not really my point was it? We can't score from the numerous chances at home against a shit side, yet people expect us to score 3+ at Monaco away.

10/11
Arsenal 0 Newcastle 1
Arsenal 0 sunderland 0
Man city 0 arsenal 3

That's why you have a squad to rest and rotate
It still remains a shocking decision not to buy cesc fabregas
