One penalty not given to us, one denied to them, one dubious one given to them, Rio should have gone with a second yellow for grabbing Giroud's neck,. Atkinson had a shocker

Still think the foul on Welbeck in the box was not only more of a pen than what they got but about the same as the Zamora one. Merte had a shout for one too.

Atkinson was wank.

Surprised people haven't found a way to make that Mertesacker's fault :hiding:

Didn't do much wrong today, doesn't seem to win many headers for a 6ft4 guy but no real glaring mistakes I can remember and could've had a pen given on him.

great to see the return of the TR7 today ive always liked him
santi has just got better and better since the stoke game he@s a joy to watch at times
lastly welbeck looks less like scoring with every passing game, with giroud out it would have been an opportunity to link pod with walcott but not going to happen is it?

Btw is Walcott ever going to get a game or is he going to be a permanent member of our bench? If he isn't fit enough to start I'm struggling to see why he's on the bench and not getting some minor game time at least

Just imagine Welbeck be our striker against West Ham, Southampton and hull, West ham particularly prides on aerial bombardment. Giroud will be missed not just up front but also defensively against them.

At least we'll have Kos back by then, will compensate for it to some extent. :)

He's 6'6!

I thought he had a good game too.

Loooooool just realised that Rosicky is going to be on the bench for the rest of the season so he'll win the Goonersworld Player of the Season

Tbh unless he's going to get a proper 20 minute run out it could be more risky than it's worth (muscles getting warm for 2 mins then cold and stiff again) and he clearly wasn't ready for the Liverpool game as we said the other day. I knew he wouldn't be back when people were hoping but he needs to get some decent minutes soon, hopefully come on at 60 mins vs West Ham.

no way was the welbeck one anywhere near a penalty and the only reason i think the obvious zamora penalty wasn't given was that the ref had given his quota for the day, refs see it as weakness to give to many
also cant see too many slagging off flamini today which means he had a good game

I think he would have got some minutes if giroud hadn't of taken things to the cobbles.

Fair play to Giroud. He don't take no crap. He loves a straightener.
