I agree with Callum. Podolski isn't a striker and shouldn't play there, but he should be given more chances on the left-hand side. He provides goals.

Podolski sucks as striker, same with Walcott.

With Alexis able to play LW/RW, I'd like to see Podolski come on as Walcott comes off. Sanchez could switch to the right, while Pods stays left.

Welbeck is our best striker. So what if he sh*ts his pants at the sight of goal, no matter if he cannot hit the broad side of a barn door he has energy and work rate which is all that counts. We got one of the best bargains in the history of English Premier League and people are complaining. So what if we have to wait for 5 years for Welbeck to come good, the wait will be worth it. People need to hold their horses as Welbeck was signed for his potential. He is a signing meant to come good after five years. People are foolish to expect instant results. Welbeck is still in his phase 1 trials. Long way to go. People need to watch out. In five years time we will have the next Henry.

Lol. Horseshit! Potential? Someone Wenger wouldnt have signed if he was in London.. Lol, come with another story or just stick to the next Henry line.

Folks are just mad because they ridiculed Giroud so much they expected Welbeck to be a masive upgrade to re-affirm their Giroud jokes. Lol
Now you are praising his energy and work rate, when many including you, ignored the overall contribution of Giroud especially in bringing others to play after aerial hold up, knock downs, or lay offs. The comment was "a striker is supposed to score goals". I wil let you have the - "he is young" card.

I like Welbz but he just needs to be more consistent and chill a bit in front of goal. But he's done pretty well so far. As you say, time needed. Looked good and linked up well with the mighty Ozil.

This game has zero meaning. We have 1 fit left back as monreal is out for a while. 2 fit CBs in chambers and per and 2 fit central midfielders in ramsey and rosicky. We cant risk anyone. I would actually not even turn up for the match

Why would Wenger play Apkom over his son, Sanogo?

To save Sanogo for more important matches

Yeah. We've Newcastle next followed by Liverpool at Anfield. There's QPR at home after that and 'Arry has a good record against Wenger, then we travel to the East to face West Ham. A pretty trough run coming up, bar Liverpool.

That's dire.

Spurs' record against us under Redknapp?

He's shocking as a striker. Did you watch the Capital One Cup game against Southampton? Or the many times he played as a striker last season?

Podolski played 103 mins as a centre forward last season

8mins vs Fener
64min vs Cardiff
1min vs Southampton
= 73mins

Which apps did I miss, starmandb ?

@irishgooner96
Yeah .. in his only run as a striker at Arsenal in four matches at the end of 2012/2013 he assisted once and scored two (-> 155,5mpg) that's better as every other striker we have atm but yeah he is shocking ..

He came on for giroud at the last half hour at anfield mate
