Welcome to Goonersworld Bet Shop. Let’s see who really is the **** or who is just Captain Hindsight after the match is over.

I know this is similar to the Prediction Thread you have going but the leader board can change more frequently and come backs can happen more.

The member with the highest accumulated credits at the end of the season is the winner.

Please see the rules.

1) Each Forum member gets 50 credits to bet on pre selected bet options
2) Once you are bust you are out and cannot rejoin
3) The game will be self monitored (No Cheating your Total!!) Honesty Please!
4) You do-not have to bet on a match and can skip matches if you want
5) Their will be a new bet page created for each Arsenal game until now and the end of the season and only matches invovling the other Big 4 (Pool/Utd/Chelski/City) in EPL - No other Sports - Any Member can Create the Bet Page - Keeping it simple as below:-
6) Keep the bet options to a maximum of 5 options
7) Keep the odds nice and clean like 10/1, 2/1, 5/1 no 7/2, 5/2 or doubles etc
8) Odds can not be higher then 15/1
9) Winnings are the odds X the credits you bet + your credits bet
10) No bet limit for those all in Poker Players.
11) You can have multiple bets if you have the credits to do so.
12) No bets accepted after kick off time (Time of Post recorded by Goonersworld will regulate this)
13) Copy the first bet slip and over ride with your bet information.
14) For Next Match - Know your Total from the previous week.
15) For Late Players - Your Starting Points Total is Equal to the Lowest Total of an Already Playing Member

Presumably all bets 'pay' at evens?

Members should declare their current total when making a bet in a standardised format.... eg

I bet 25 credits Arsenal to beat Hull 2-0


....this way 'bets' are easier to follow and its easier to look back in the thread and detect cheating

Thier is a seperate page for the bets / credits page - I have made it its named GW Bet Shop - Arsenal v Man City - Charity Shield it is in the Games section and should be still in Page one or Two of New Posts.

I was joking when I said you have to be over 18 as a disclaimer as no money is changing hands.

I have no probs naming it Credits if its easier.

Thier is no registration - just copy the first bet slip that I have made in that page and pick which bet you want to do and over ride my bet with your information. Which bet / how much your name etc.

I think this could be a good laugh if done right.

Credit Total - 50

I bet 2 credits on
Bet 5) - At Least One Sending Off - 10/1

Return if bet correct – 20 credits
Total if bet is correct - 70 credits
Total if bet is not correct - 48 credits

where do we get the odds from?

I wouldnt let too much people play imo, would be hard to control

edit:

Idea: A day before kick off the host of this game will make the topic for the Arsenal match.
In this topic he will take the odds of 5 bets(could be anything, winner, draw, first card, sending off etc)

The participants have to chose of one those bets(no other bets allowed, to keep it simple and anti cheating)(unless you skip the match)

For example:

Arsenal v City
bet 1: ... odds: ...
bet 2 .... odds ....
etc..

Do you think we should hold off until the Premiership kicks off and skip the Chartiy Shield until we iron out how best to proceed?

Can people who are interested ping a post so we know what numbers / popular the idea is.

Also are people happy with the lay out of the 'betting slip' I gave an example a few posts up.
