Charlie Patino signs first pro contract

Image

Charlie Patino has signed his first professional contract.

The 17-year-old midfielder is an Arsenal Academy graduate and England international. Charlie has played for a higher age group every season for Arsenal, as well as England.

As a 14-year-old, Charlie captained England under-16s against Spain, and in the same year he made his debut for our under-18s against Chelsea.

He has played consistently for our under-18s this season, and is known for his technical ability and agility in midfield.

We congratulate Charlie on his first pro contract and look forward to supporting him with his continued development.

Good news.

You may not have heard of him yet, but it's only a matter of time before he starts making a name for himself. Exciting talent.

Can we please promote him to the first team so we can stop seeing Xhaka and El neny.

I keep seeing highlights videos with lots of sideways passing. Our coaches are going to ruin him!

There is a shift right through the club in our fortunes - the U23 team is looking strong after a shaky start, now 3rd in the table after bashing Utd 3-1.
Our U18s are also 4th, 2 wins and 2 draws.

This Patino kid looks like one for the future if he can develop well.

Apparently the most exciting prospect to ever come out of Hale End... and plays in a deeper midfield role.

First time watching Patino. Didn’t get the ball much but the times that he did, it looks like he has good ball control.

Pleased he got a goal for himself. Hopefully the first of many

Charlie Patino is the youngest player to score on his Arsenal debut since Jon Sammels in 1963.

Let's hope he turns out better and less of a crying c*** then the last wonder kid we had who scored in the league cup with a 5-1 win v lower opposition many years ago

I was there that day and thought we had someone special. How wrong I was.

Would've been there today to see this but couldn't go. Let's hope patino becomes brilliant

We've had too many youngsters hyped to high heaven who turn shit. Zelazem whatever, Crowley and others
