I was tempted to give Mert an 8.5. He was excellent today, never put a foot wrong and made some crucial tackles (he started off the move for the goal.)

Yeah, usually if someone plays less than about 10 minutes they're not counted in the scoring

I thought he was really poor today, playing on the wing is not doing him any favours. He doesn't offer Gibbs any cover, compare Gnabry and Sagna on the right today, they covered each other well, JW left Gibbs exposed too often.

5 is an average score, not a bad one, just saying that Jack was average today.

Ozil is our star player but that does not mean he should be rated more than a player who has had a better game than him. Wilsheres defensive contribution put him down in my estimation, if it was Rangel playing instead of Tiendalli it would have been a different game IMO.

I gave sevens' or more to every player bar Wilshere, Ozil and Giroud. They weren't awful but I think all three of them will feel like they performed well under their potential. That said, they all put in a shift and showed so moments of quality, so it's not worth getting worried about it. Wilshere's out of position as well.
