Tottenham up until a few weeks ago had the best away record int he league if i'm not mistaken.

Says it all about away form in general from every team. This season has been interesting and exciting but very, very poor in quality. Liverpool are top, they are a one man team with a rather average squad. I don't need to say much more.

Sturridge (20 goals)
Sterling,
Coutinho
Gerrard

Each of these guys would walk into our team right now.

Every one of our injured players would walk into theirs.

People are getting carried away and expect Liverpool just to become a cast iron force again, being super, super negative as usual. Some people here cannot see things over a long term and panic after every bad result.

Funny I say the person who supports wenger doesnt think long term if it takes a few decent results to forget the bad ones and similarities to the season before. Long term what am I missing - With things as they are I see - fourth or fifth place finishes, bad transfer windows, big injuries, big game defeats, the same football.. tactics, failures. What we've experienced more or less for 6 seasons
Why are people getting carried away with Liverpool. Their lack of games isn't the major factor of why their top and thinking long term, with champions league football they may just be a bit more progressive than us and improve that squad. Nobody entertained the thought of them being top this close to go many Arsenal fans barely considered them for top four
Im seeing them smash teams with no champions league and keeping their best player with a manager 25 years younger than ours they look well set up for the long term

There's not many better strikers. I'd get rid of cazorla, rosicky, podolski, arteta and Giroud for Sturridge

Agüero, Cavani, Ibrahimovic, Suarez are without a doubt.
Then you have Rooney, Benzema, Lewandowski, van Persie*, Costa, Mandzukic, Tevez, Higuain. I'd take first five over Sturridge. That's 9 for me.

* in terms of quality. He's having a poor season with injuries. Wouldn't be good signing.

Sturridge is above average. Finishing okay but nothing special. We can do better

You're selling him incredibly short there.

If you're nothing special in general play, which he isn't, to be elite you need to be clinical which he isn't. He's good, and he's fast and Liverpool play to that strength.

Good assessment. Aguero, Suarez, Ibrahimovich, Lewandowski, Costa are definites, Cavani and Rooney are probabilies. Benzema a maybe. Id pick no one else. Not many.
Hes on the brink of being world class. Another premier league season like this one and a good performance in the champions league and he is there

We can do much better but considering we have Giroud, I wouldn't throw a smug face if Sturridge wanted to come. Hypothetically speaking of course.

Just read Wenger's interview on the website and he said he's going to continue promoting from within. I'm all for that but was depressing to hear considering the circumstances.

He's extremely clinical - 20 goals in 24 Premier League matches from 84 attempts. That's a very good return. His finishing is top notch, he's absolutely rapid and can go past players with ease with the ball at his feet. He's not world class but you don't get many players better than him who aren't.

He's quick, has a great goals-to-games ratio and possesses a great repetoire of tricks, is strong and decent in the air and can bring others into play as well - what more do you want from a striker?
