This result made up for Chelsea last minute goal. Ugh I was so peed off when that goal went in. Tough away game to Stoke nextweek.

We can only beat what was in front of us. Yes Sunderland were dire and piss poor but they still needed to be beaten. Yes sunderland have the third worst defence in the league but we still played well i thought today. We should not have conceded the goal cos a] Szczesny should have caught the ball instead of punching it straight back to Giaccherini who scored a fabulous goal b] Giaccherini should not have gotn that much space and time inside our box. The scoreline does not reflect the hairy moments we had in the second half when we clearly dropped our concentration levels and got sloppy. A comprehensive win is all that counts and i am super chuffed although Chelsea managed to scrape in while City had a hard fought win over Stoke at the Etihad. City still have a game in hand though. March 16th to April 15th is going to be our toughest period and that will decide where will finish on the table.

I don't actually think we did much wrong for their goal - maybe Szczesny could have caught it, but the players chased the ball down pretty quickly and Szczesny was unsighted until the shot was too close to react to, it was just a great strike - maybe we could have done more but no-one did anything that ridiculous.

As for the scoreline reflecting the hairy moments, why only count ours and not theirs?

Just back, picked a great game to go to!

The whole team were superb in that first half and the passing was so crisp. Rosicky, Giroud and Wilshere were our standout performers. We dropped off a bit after it went to 4-0 but the game was won at that point. Great pick-me-up result after the Bayern game!

You need to go more often with results like that!
Raya/Ramsdale
White/Tomiyasu--Saliba/Timber--Gabriel/Kiwior--???/Zinchenko
???/Jorginho
Odegaard/Smith Rowe----Rice/???
Saka/Jesus-------------------Martinelli/Trossard
???/Havertz

I was also at the Everton game though. :hiding:

It was great today though, I was pretty nervous having watched Chelsea score a late winner but we were awesome. Our passing was great today and Cazorla, Rosicky and Wilshere were doing a great job of rotating positions and making it hard for Sunderland.

Also, Giroud with two goals and an assist. He must have known I was there. ;)

Great stuff. Still very much in the hunt. Really happy and relieved Giroud got on the scoresheet. All good for me re Arsenal FC.
I want Carl Jenkinson back in a Arsenal shirt next season.

Cracking way to put Wednesday behind us, looking forward to seeing the highlights soon. Shame about some of the other results but all we can do is win our matches and keep the pressure on.
