A home win - good to bounce back here from the disaster of last night.

Play Sanogo and he will score.

Play Pod and he will score two.

Play Giroud and he will get really close to scoring.

Drop Ozil - time for a rest for about a month, given his recent performances.

Put in Fabianski and give Szec a rest and an appointment with a head doctor to help him deal with pressure situations. Fab may decide to stay if he gets a run in the team.

Play Santi and Pod for 90 minutes to give them belief that they're actually wanted and valued at Arsenal. Santi was not a happy bunny being dragged off last night when one considers the appalling shift that Ozil was putting in.

Save sanogo for the fa cup and CL he's only just come back from injury. Giroud has had a rest and will be itching to get back on the pitch after his offfield issues.

I don't think Sanogo did anything wrong, I would stick with him for the time being.

He's just come back from injury and played two massive gsmes in one week! Playing him again would risk injuring him more! I don't want him dropped, I want him rested!

Need to remember that Per and Kosc haven't had any rest for a while now. When is Verms back? Regardless, I'd play:

----------------------- Szczesny
Sagna - Mertesacker - Koscielny - Monreal**
------------------ Arteta - Wilshere
--------- Gnabry* - Cazorla - Podolski
----------------------- Sanogo

** If Gibbs is out
* If Chambo is injured.

The two games Sanogo's played since returning have been against Liverpool and Bayern. Those are two extremely tough games and he's done decently in both games. I want him to start here because Sunderland, while a tough team to beat, aren't on the level of Bayern and Liverpool. It could be a good game for Sanogo to build his confidence and exert his dominance - more so compared to 'Pool and Bayern.

Ozil is due a rest and I'd drop him for this one. Cazorla in the #10 position would be fine and Podolski has to play here.

I'm tempted to drop Mertesacker and play Sagna at CB with Kosc to rest them one at a time, but I don't want to tamper the partnership.

Szczesny
Jenkinson - Sagna - Koscielny - Monreal
Arteta - Rosicky
Gnabry - Cazorla - Podolski
Giroud

Fabianski
Mertesacker
Flamini
Wilshere
Ozil
Oxlade-Chamberlain
Sanogo

I think we should use this game to rest some players after a tough run of games. I'd be tempted to rest Mertesacker and give Sagna a chance in the centre of defense and play Jenkinson on the right. He looked solid against Liverpool and will be fresh. Monreal will start as I anticipate Gibbs will be out. I'd bring Arteta back in for Flamini who put in a monster shift last night and perhaps rest Oxlade-Chamberlain too, who by all accounts came off with a slight knock. I also think Ozil needs a break, both physically and mentally, and by leaving him out we can move Cazorla into a more central position (which is his best position, I feel) and bring in Podolski on the lift. Sanogo has done really well in the last two games but shouldn't be overused and I'd given Giroud a chance to earn his place back. The fact that he might now have some genuine competition should hopefully bring the best out of him.

Re callum

good point on Merts, he's going to face burn out at this rate having to play every game.

Yeah, and we're really going to need him and Koscielny to remain injury-free between now and the end of the season. Vermaelen's injury is a pain but Sagna can do a job.

And risk another injury? I don't think so.

Yeah to play 3 times in one week when you havent played a game for months and you are known to be very injury prone is basically asking for an injury

That's a tough one for me, Ox is doing well wide and his pace is suiting Ozil.

Jack is a bit of a problem, plays ok but where is his best position? I think if you judge it against top competition I agree CM he's too lightweight.

CAM/RAM is where I see him but who knows for now?

I know Giroud is due a game but after two monster clashes for his debut it would be good to see Sanogo in an easier game to see what he can do without all that pressure.
